As a non farming girl, I really enjoy the calving photos. When I worked up north, (north like the arctic coast), one of my work mates had family somewhere in Sask. and they went for a visit, during calving season. I remember watching a video of a birth, and they had to use a winch as the poor baby was coming out feet first. All was well in the end, but I was sure skirming in my seat!.
Happy First Day of Spring? NOT!
so how is this for day 5 of the spring season - minus 26 at the barn this morning. now that is just ridiculous. however the sun is shining brightly, it is calm and if you aren't outdoors it looks like a beautiful winter wonderland. 8 days til lotus land
Brrrr. Stay inside, Lynn, until it warms up, for sure. I am a little worried about Lotusland. Must get Linda to provide a long range forecast for us. I know here in the interior and on the West Coast, it's supposed to be a cool, wet Easter Weekend. (DH was out there this morning, fertilizing the lawns like crazy!) The long range forecast for the Southern Interior is continued colder than average temperatures and rain right on through next week. Yikes! Hopefully the Island will fare better. Although, it should be warm and dry in the greenhouses and nurseries anyway, right? Maybe we should all pack a "brelly" just in case for Butchart Gardens. Linda, what say you?
And here I am about ready to head out to Saskatchewan for a spring 90th birthday party, and it's -15 overnight there!!! I think it is about time it warmed up on the Prairies!!! I will certainly be missing Lotusland if it stays like that. And we have a brand new convertible we will be driving and too cold to put the top down!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAA!(That's me just venting!!! I'm sure I'll be just fine! LOL)
Glenda
what kind of convertible??
so coooool i love those things oh to be 18 again
Well............................I'm not 18, I'm 54, so I guess I can PRETEND I'm 18!!
We love the car, although I had the driver's side window explode on me the other day. We were just sitting at a stoplight, and BOOM!!! Don't think anythign hit it, but you never know. Fixed now so she's ready for a road trip!!
Glenda
gee that would be quite a shock. Nice looking car!
Thanks Linda!!! You can have a look on Monday!
Yes, it was rather a shock. We were on our way to Marigold. We did go there, but I ended up with a pretty violent headache after 10 minutes, so we came home. It was gone again in an hour, probably just the loud noise and the suddenness of it. Thank goodness I was looking the other way when it did it's thing.
Glenda
Love your little convertable, Glenda. DH and I had a 2003 Mustang Convertible that we enjoyed for nearly 3 years, until last month. We traded it off for a Mini Van. DH felt he needed a back up vehicle for his job. I miss the convertible, but the Van is nice to drive too. As much fun as we had in our little "Tropic Green Pony" convertable, it sometimes was just too hot to have the top down here. Sun is too intense here in the summer months. Need the airconditioning more. It was fun though...and oh yes...I am 57! Enjoy!
so sorry did not mean to suggest that 18 was the age limit for convertibles, but they just look so good on the young things
i got my first and only convertible at not much older than that and had her for nearly 30 years but when my charming niece turned 18, my baby left my garage for hers for the summer months each and every year until i sold her (to buy a honkin bright red truck which carries the same personalized plate as the spyder used to - RED PEPPER)
Oh I dunno, Lynn. Convertibles look pretty good on the old things too. LOL
