Plumeria Pictures

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Kathleen, I've never purchased seeds from them, but I know they are reputable. Ebay is a good place to get seeds from as well. Also, I started out on a tight budget too, but I started my collection with $10 and got five plumerias! Here is a link: http://www.alohapalms.com/cgi-bin/store/agora.cgi Packer Nursery is in Hawaii, and I've ordered several times from them and was very pleased. Their cuttings are $1.99 each, minimum purchase is five cuttings.

You are right that plumerias are a wonderful fragrance:-)

Thanks for the link, Clare -- cuttings would be better! Shipping is reasonable, too.

Oh, I'm going to get a plumeria, yeah!!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Kathleen, Yay! Congrats on getting some plumeria! You can't go wrong with Celadine. In my opinion, their common yellow and their Celadine are the same no need to get one of each of those. Singapore is awesome but difficult and slow to root.

Yep, gotta go count my pennies and get my order in. We have very little growing on our property yet -- except weeds! -- so it will be nice to look forward to something really pretty. I will definitely get Celadine -- probably two!

That's a great site. When payday comes I'm gona order. Thanks for the info. The seeds I have really are Plumerias. I have no clue what color. There's gona be a long wait to find out. Oh well they say all good things are worth waiting for.lol

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Luckpup, I have idea about what color mine will be either and no idea as to the parentage of the seedlings but finding out is fun and exciting, and I'm sure you're right that it is worth waiting for.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Your pictures are awesome, Clare. You certainly are patient.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thank you, Shirley! You give me more credit than I deserve. All of the flowers are from cuttings which bloomed in their first or second year once rooted. I think you are probably more patient than I am. Growing brug seedlings certainly requires patience!

Here is Lemon Drop which is blooming today:

It doesn't matter to me where they came from...they are really pretty. Colorado will love you.

Thanks, Shirley:-)

((((Clare))))-I just read where you lost your beloved Dutchess-my heart hurts so for you.I know your pain, when we lose our wonderful beloved pets it is like losing a family member(which they are). They are such a joy & little blessings given to us by God.Dutchess was so beautiful & I am glad you have many wonderful memories of her.She looked so happy there enjoying your plants & I know she loved you as much as you loved her.She was a very lucky girl having such a wonderful loving "mama" to love & care for her.

Colie, your thoughtfulness brought tears to my eyes as you remembered my girl. Thank you for your lovely words. I couldn't agree with you more that our pets and all animals are blessings given to us by God. I was so lucky and blessed to have such a sweet soul around for the nine years that she was alive. You are a doll to write such lovely words. Antoinette (Gourd) and I were just talking about her yesterday because Antoinette lost her oldest Golden Retriever just a few days ago and is mourning now too. She posted this sadness on the pet forum and on another plumeria thread. You are right that it is no different than losing any other family member and is a blow to the heart. I will miss her for all of my days. Thanks again for your post.

You are so welcome Clare-I meant every word I said & hope it helped you in some way.
My husband & I had a very special angel called Rosie.
I have lost both now & my heart hurts for them everyday but knowing that they are together helps me throught the day.

CC, I am so sorry for your loss also. I feel your pain. You are right to feel comforted by the fact that they are together in heaven and waiting for you. Hugs:-)

Clare,I feel in my heart this is true & what a happy day that will be-the three of us together again.

Leander, TX(Zone 8b)

Clare you need to add you pictures to the plantfiles!!! I can't seem to find that many photos in there. Just a thought because you have so many and your pictures are great!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Okay, Kauai, will do as soon as I can. Thanks! I'll have more to add this summer as well.

Has anyone heard anything more about Packer at AlohaPalms? Is he all right? I placed an order on March 22nd, my card was charged on March 23rd, and I was getting antsy about my cuttings, which haven't arrived yet, but I read in another thread that he had a heart attack at the end of March. That explains the delay, of course, but I'd like to know whether the poor man recovered.

Zuzu,

I sent an e-mail because I hadn't rec'd mine either. Today I got notice that the order had shipped via USPS. Perhaps you can do the same?

Kathleen

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Thanks, Kathleen. I sent an e-mail on Saturday, so I'll probably get a response soon. Or maybe they already sent it and they figure the delivered package will be my response. When did you place your order? I'm sure his health problems must have delayed operations there for a while.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

WOW! Those are so gorgeous! Can I grow them up here, in pots, and then bring them indoors for the winter, like I do my Brugs, etc...? I don't want to start any for this year - but will put them on my list for next year, if this is possible.

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Zuzu,

I ordered on 26 March.

Karrie20x,

I believe so. I've seen reports of people growing them in cold regions and bringing them in. In fact, the one time I tried to grow them, I brought mine in because they were so small at that time of year. Soon as they get some warmth and a drink in spring, they wake up. Try [HYPERLINK@www.plumeria101.com] for info.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

thanks! I'm definitely going to keep this in mind for next year!

Baton Rouge, LA(Zone 9a)

I am so envious!!! I hope that someday I can show pictures like that. I have a feeling it might be next year, not this year. Patience......

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Wow is all I can say. Sure pretty enough and I have one that the aroma is so good. I can only imagine what all the aroma of those would create. I love that Rainbow. I believe mine is Celedine, or something similar. Thanks for posting.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, guys! I have a few inflo's forming right now and hope to post some more pictures soon.

CaCajun, patience is indeed required with these trees, but they are worth the wait!

GRC, Celadine is one of my favorites!
