EEEWWW !!! I was checking seedlings today and picked up some of my peat pellets to see if they were still moist and the bottom had a bunch of little white worms on it.... I checked several other pots which are not pellets and haven't found any others...... What are these ....? and what can I do ...... ? Is it because the soil is to moist ..... ? I've been watering on Sat/Sun with MaVie alfalfa pellet mix and Wed/Thurs with the palmolive soap, H202 and MG mix.......
Found little white worms in my seedlings....
Sounds like Fungus Gnat larva. BT will get rid of them. Gnatrol works fairly well. Some people soak mosquito dunks over night and use that water since the dunks have BT in them. Yellow sticky traps will help get rid of the fungus gnats themselves. They seem to thrive in moist medium.
Thanks Brugie...... they seem to be eating the seeds so I better move fast.......
