I don't know whats going on with the seeds.. Some are being kept to long before givin away. Some are just empty due to how they were grown, weather, etc. Age has a lot to do with it..It is said they keep for up to two years But, It is better to use ASAP.The rate of sucess goes down with the age. Good luck cinnabor

I believe rabbit food pellets are alfalfa based.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I think so too Janeth2.

Cinnabor, fresh seeds do germinate faster but give the older ones a chance. Sometimes it just takes a while!!

I spent my first year on Dave's green with envy and now I am a brug piggie. I remember seeing pics of BF and Rosamond and EP. I wanted them so much I could not stand it! LOL

you forgot to tell ladyBlue about the VF11 liquid fertilizer you can get at most good HW stores like OSH

Oops! Sorry! Do you use it too Dick? What do you think of it if you do use it? I love it. I have no clue what is in it. Do you Dick? It may just be a Calfiornia thing. I call it my tonic and usually use it as a foliar spray. I know there is a link for it, but I can't seem to google it now.

There's one link for a description. From googling around it seems to be local to CA and the, uhmm, hemp growers, are fans of it. An organic, vitamin spray. I finally found one online source to buy - Cole's Hardware in San Francisco but it was an unsecure site which means I wouldn't have ponied up personal info and cc# if I was inclined to buy.

Eleanor's VF-11 liquid fertilizer.

http://www.vf-11plantfood.com/index.html Someone sent me this page a couple of years ago. You can get a sample from here if you would like. I never did because I figured if I liked it, it would be hard to find to purchase and the shipping would be out of site.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thats the link Shirley! Thanks

Oh no, 8ftbed, I never knew not to mix it with other fertilizers!!

"IMPORTANT…do not use VF-11 with other fertilizers! The more virgin the soil conditions, the better. Leach out all other fertilizers. VF-11 wants to work alone"

I not only can use with other fertilizers at times , but sometimes I mix it with Miracle Grow in the same spray bottle. LOL!!

Anyway, I esp like it on my flowering annuals. I get so many flowers. I remember Scoot though did not find it worked well for her at all.

8ft, is the VF-11 on the site you provided the same as Eleanor's?? Some time back I tried to order from Cole's and I could never get to checkout. Does anyone know of a site that takes paypal and sells Eleanor's VF-11?? Paypal is sooooo much easier than using a credit card...

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

I think it is, but as I stated - that site is not secure and I would never order from it. It must have the gold padlock in the bottom tray of your web browser.

I sent an email yesterday to Eleanor's (Brugie's link above) asking if they would take paypal because I don't want to give the cc info over the phone. I'm not a fan of sending that info through the mail either... besides being too impatient for sending an order via mail.

I'll let you know if I hear back from her.

Thanks 8ft!!!! I look forward to finding out what you learn. I too prefer paypal vendors and when possible, I only purchase from those that will accept paypal!!! I keep a small account for paypal only and feel much more secure...

A good way to tell if you are on a secure site is the address in the address bar at the top should read "https:" Normal browsing is http: but secure browsing has the "s" after the "http."

We are not set up for purchasing by Internet.
Also we only ship mail order by the case.
I will attach my mail order price list.

However, if you only want to order 2 single gallons you can purchase
through www.charleysgreenhouse.com.
They take orders for our smaller shipments by phone or by Internet.
Their phone is 1-800-322-4707

Kell
i also like VF11 for the smaller plants & seedlings
because it is in liquid form it is really easy to mix for spray bottles
the concentrate is 2 tbl per gal, i use 1 tbl per gal for seedlings
i buy it in 1 gal containers at OSH hardware store near me 1 gal = lots of tbl
OSH is owned by Sears, so maybe the local Sears nursery will have it :-)
for the large Brugs & Roses i still use MG ??
maybe because that is what i have always used ? :-)

I do the same, Dick!! LOL. I buy mine at OSH also!!! It is up to $19 a gallon. I remember when it was $12. I admit I add much more than 1 T per gallon. I just pour. I am so bad. I practically always use it as foliar spray for bigger things like a chair full of petunias!
