Someone today made me a very generous offer, and I just have to do something nice now too!
The contest is for 2 packs of seeds: 1-scarlet peony poppy and 1- salmon peony poppy.
Come on Canada, pick a number between 1-100, closing is midnight Saturday night. Post your number here. I emailed the winning number to OFG who in return gets the same seeds. Joelle

I think I'm gonna check it in the morning. You folks in the east will find out first!
Hey, here I stayed up until midnight just to see who won and there's no announcement. LOL Come on Donna, you weren't allowed to go to bed before midnight. :-)
Some of the numbers are pretty close. Somebody must think I'm lucky or something. I never win anything.

OK, Congrats JoSnoop, thats great!
Joelle, what was generous offer made to you? Anything you can share publically
Congrats Joanne! Ü
For sure we'll post photos, Joanne. Congrats again to you. Thanks for the fun contest, Joelle.
Joanne Congratulations! Send me your Addy, Donna too, and I will get the seeds out Monday. I don't want to jinx myself by talking about the generous offer! Joelle
Thanks MG99, ceedub, Lilypon & OFG and of course Joelle. This was my 1st contest, it's great fun. My fingers are itchy to get planting; anyone have seeds started already?
No seeds started yet, but I'm thinking about it today. I potted elephant ear bulbs yesterday(one for Sandy!), and I just repotted a couple of houseplants. Also need to pot some brug cuttings , and I have some double dat seeds that Linda gave me that I will put in a peat pot today. Spring is in the air!
Glenda
Congrats Joanne and thanks for the contest Joelle and your lovely assistant Donna. We'll have to have more contests....they're fun.
I'm just looking at my seeds here. I'm going to plant some today. Not sure what yet but I think I read somewhere that Lobelias and Foxgloves should be started early so I guess I'll start with them. I planted some Salvias, Linaria and Antirrhinum Majus the other day. I know I have a bunch in numbered ziplocks for February here that I haven't quite got around to. If I'm not careful I'll be overlapping with March. I keep thinking that it's too early. Okay, here we go I have: Dianthus, Astrantia, more Delphiniums, Thunbergia, Portulaca, Nemesia, Carnations and Hollyhocks. I think I'm going to be busy and where I'm going to put them all I don't know.
Sandy
Congrats, Joanne! Looking forward to pics later on! :-)

As some of you know already, I started a whole bunch of seeds a couple weeks ago. They are up and growing gangbusters. Did have some disappointments though. None of my Lobelia cardinalis (Red Cardinal) came up and I was really looking forward to growing them in my garden to attract Hummers. Oh well, have to look for them in the nurseries this spring. Also, only two colors of Hollyhocks germinated out of four. But the ones that did are the deep red and dark brugandy, so they'll be nice. Finally, my Ipomoea alba (Moon Vine) seeds didn't germinate. I have more, so I may have to try them again. I don't know about my Gypsophila repens (Pink Baby's Breath) as even though they came up, they appear to be very tiny and kinda frail looking. I am hoping that they get stronger.
The good news is that the Catananche (Blue Cupids Dart) are nearly all up as is Thunbergia (Black-eyed Susan vine). My veggie seeds did remarkably better. Corn, Cucumber, Zuchinni and two tyes of tomatos are flourishing. Not all of my Golden Sunshine Peppers germinated, but I think I have 3 growing so that's enough too. All in all, not too bad. But as I was telling Susan yesterday, I think next year, I'll tone it down a bit. It gets expensive and time consuming when you have 200 or so seedlings on the go.
I have started diascia, lobelias, purple asters, prairie coneflowers, agaranthum, passiflora, datura, brugs and a little pot of forget-me-not. The diascia, datura and forget-me-nots are coming up. My new mini greenhouse is getting a really good workout! I've put the perennials outside though so won't see anything from them until it starts getting warm.
LOL! Everybody! That was great! Donna I see you have had some trouble with the Hollyhocks I will send some in with the poppies. I will see how many there are and if someone else wants them just say. Joelle
