Question about winter sown MG

Central, KY(Zone 6b)

I posted this question in the propagation forum, but thought some of you MG folks might be able to help.

I have winter sown for the first time (also my first time growing MGs) and I noticed today that 1 Milky Way MG seed has sprouted. Now the problem....it is supposed to be in the 20s every night for the next week and only in the low to mid 30s for highs...should I bring this little guy inside? I never expected the MG to sprout so soon : (

Thanks much!!!

i would bring it inside. its too cold for it outside yet. i always plant mine after march here due to the never fail late last frost.

if its in the ground then its iffy due to the fact mgs dont like to be moved. you can cover it with a half of coke bottle for like a mini greenhouse and put pine straw around it and hope for the best.

Vicki,
I planted some MG over the weekend, and they were up in 2 days. I have them inside under shoplights. I could not believe they germinated so quickly. There is no way they can go outside yet. I am beginning to wish I had not started them so soon.

Thanks! I just ran outside and got it : )

Shirley,
I did that last year with my cypress vines. I had to tape wooden skewers together and stick in each pot so the little vines weren't all over the place. I'm glad I kept notes, I won't be so quick with those again!

Vicki,
Good idea. I will have to come up with something for them to climb. They have already grown 2 or 3 inches in a few days.

I wouldn't think they would do very well winter sown. They're such fun in the sun lovers (tropicals).
