We had a winner in the last contest and it was decided the next contest for Japanese Morning Glory Seed would be "From what Classic Movie does this line come from"
So I will write a line or Excerpt and you name the "Classic Movie" it Comes from.
The winner will recive 6 packs of Morning Glory Seed. The first person to solve all 10 is the winner.
so here goes...........
1. For what? How to die like a gentleman, how to die by the rules, when the only important thing is how to live like a human being.
2. You've always got to put the past behind you before you can move on.
3. If I let you change me, will that do it? If I do what you tell me, will you love me?
4. What do you want me to do? Draw you a picture? Spell it out? Don't ever ask me! Long as you live, don't ever ask me more.
5.You don't understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been someone Charley, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it. I'm a bum.
6. They don't eat people's gardens, don't nest in the corncrib, they don't do one thing but just sing their hearts out for us.
7. That means if you're a good girl, you'll be out in 20 years. I'll be waiting for you. If they hang you... I'll always remember you.
8.Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.
9.Any time you got nothin' to do and lots of time to do it, come up.
10. A man who will keep his head and not get rattled under fire, like as not, he'll kill ya. .
Ok so there you have it..........lets see who is first to solve these. It shouldn't take long and if you can tell me "Who" said each line I will throw in some extra seed packetts.
Have fun I know I will...............

I know it is kind of embarrassing. We have to do something in the winter so we are huge movie freaks. Plus it helps that my husband is like the movie quote freak. He will be normally talking and then all of a sudden throw in a quote. Most people think that he is crazy but if you know the movie then you understand him. Thanks for creating a contest that puts his "special" talent to use, LOL. I sent you my addy.
Kauai, sounds like my DBF should meet your husband, (although he only got about 4-5 on a quick perusal). His entire IT department speaks in film quotes! I'm very used to it, but it takes most people a while to know what we are talking about.
OMG - I didn't even know one of em'!.......LOL.
WTG and congrats to you Kim :)!
Too hard, I only knew one!
Hummm she is way quick, besides I didn't know any of them, I won't be getting any special MG seeds from these contests!!!
Congrats, Kauai17, way to go!
Thanks everyone but the praise is defiantly for my DH. Boojum - sounds like we are in the same situation with these guys. Have you ever been in a group discussion and your BF quotes a movie and you are the only one laughing because no one gets it?? It is kinda embarrassing but if you understand the movie it is funny. And we wonder why people think we are weird. Oh well.
Guess it worked to our advantage just this once.
Most people have no idea what my DBF and I are talking about. I am always willing to explain. We quote poems, old pop songs, films, dead people, cartoon characters from the 1920's. Who could follow this stuff??? My daughter always says to friends, "See I told you they're in their own world." Beats the alternative!
I don't got to choe (show) you no stinking baadges (badges)!
We quote movie lyrics around here all the time but they are usually from "Princess Bride" or from "Star Trek: TNG" episodes or from the Star Trek movies. We also quote TV lyrics from our favorite shows. And I love quoting song lyrics whenever the situation calls for one. I just think it is fun but other people think it is crazy. But it does not matter to me what anyone else thinks. I am just strange anyway. :) LOL

Hey where is Gordonville at? I need to travel around in my own state because I never know where anybody is from.
Boojum the one we use the most is 'bout a nine on the tension scale there Reub' . We have never explained it to anybody or which movie it comes from because then they will know that we are making fun of them for getting mad or heated, hehe.
Gordonville is north of D/FW near the Red/Lake Texoma. (2 miles, we are between the two).
Thanks haven't been up in that direction for quite a few years.
this was great and a real surprise. I wanted it to go at least till morning but Kauai or her DH was really going on it so we will see what I come up with next................Seeds will go out tomorrow Kim.
Thanks for the intrest and I am planning another contest as we speak.........

Thank you WillowWasp. My DH is such a movie freak that in college he even took a class that was called History of American Cinema. They basically sat around and watched movies everyday. Plus his parents have a huge collection of movies. We rent from them instead of Blockbuster most of the time. So that sparked his interest in movies. Plus you used a great line up of actors/actresses. Thanks again you always come up with neat contest. Kim
The Phoenix bird is Chinese, Japanese, Egyptian, etc.

Translation for this MG:
female phoenix bird-Shiney pure white flower
Have been spending a lot of time this winter on translations; hope to have the info to post so people can enter it in the plant database. Also pictures of the Japanese characters. I want to run it by Naomi before I post it for her to check for correctness.
When we get there, Dave's should have the best database for J MGs in the world.
