This is my bestest little seedling, my grandson, Blake. He's been accepted at Appalachian College. He loves music and they have a class that he wanted so badly. He had to go play the guitar for them and be judged. He was so happy he got accepted into this class. They only accept 25 students. He's a self taught guitar player and plays quite well. He's played at the Cabarrus Courtyard Theatre and has played several concerts provided by a loacl radio station. He also plays in his church's band. He'll get to do his internship at a recording studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Maybe he'll get to rub elbows with some big Nashville stars. I'm so proud of him.
Cute, cute.....I wish him all the luck in the world.
And rightly so...Ada !!! That is one special 'seedling' you have there.
Thanks, Shirley. He's a good kid.
He sure looks the part of a Nashville star, Ada. How exciting! I bet he gets discovered there!! You must be so proud. He must be very talented to get 1 of only 25 spots. Does he do country music? I can see him in one of those huge Texas hats. It must be such a good feeling for you to watch as all his dreams come true!
Congratulations, Ada!
Great pictures, Ada! Your Grandson is a real cutie, and sounds wonderfully talented! You're sure a blessed Grandma!
Ada, your seedlings are looking great. You are going to be one busy lady very soon. I agree regarding your best seedling........he sounds like a wonderful person.
Thanks Gretchen, Frannie and Kell.
Kell, he doesn't play country now as a rule but I'm sure when he gets to Nashville, he'll take a bigger interest in country. I'm so excited for him. He's my heart.
Ada dear,
You have a fine looking, talented grandson, and I'll bet it has something to do with genes!
Jackie
Thank you so much, Jackie. That's so sweet of you.
Ada, your grandson is so cute. The girls could melt in those big ole eyes. lol I know you must be very proud of him.
Ada, thanks for all the pictures of your seedlings and I do hope you get lots of keepers. And such a good looking and talented GS. I too planted seeds of var. Snowbank , some have germinated and I don't expect any success with them but will do as you say you do, keep them until they keel over. Donna S
Thanks Sylvia and Ruth.
Ada, you're going to be the Brug Queen this year! That is alot of babies. Your grandson is a sweetie patootie!! Congrats on him getting into the school!
What kind of brug seeds did Jeremiah send you???
:) Donna
Thanks, Donna. I'd have to go look at my list for Jeremiah's cross. Too many crosses for me to remember them all and I wouldn't want to tell you wrong. LOL
Gosh, I don't know how I missed this thread, what fun I missed! Ada, your seedlings are super. I don't understand when a whole 'mess' of seeds come out albinos - what is that all about??
I'd grow them out too, is it likely that they will mature. Your grandson is a doll, he looks like he will be a star to me, really a nice looking young man!!!!!
Thanks, Sherry. The albino seedlings comes from a cross of variegated plants with the variegated plant being the pod parent.
WOW Ada, you are gonna be busier than a hive of bees this summer. I cant wait till you are posting pictures of the blooms, I just know you will have something nice.
All fingers and toes crossed for you.....
Dee
Thanks Dee. I hope we have better weather this year than last year.
I sent equador pink x cremesickle. I now have the reverse of that ready but I planted most of them (100). I will drop you a note ada.
Jeremiah
Thanks, Jeremiah.
Jeremiah, you are going to grow out all 100? Monika has said you should if you can so you do not miss that special one! I would love to do that also, but just can't pick one pod above others and can't grow them all. I am dying to see what Cream sickle babies look like! It would be great fun also to see how different each of 100 seedlings are from one to the other. GO FOR IT!!
Jeremiah, if you have any left over (hahaha) creamsickle, with any cross, I would love to buy, lease, borrow or lay-away a few to try in Arky. We are in the same zone, and I'd like to think that they would do well here. Thanks!! SherryLike
That would be a nice cross to try. It sounds like there could very well be something nice to come from it. Let us know if you are considering sending out any seed. I would be more than happy to grow some out for you and would abide by the hybridizer rules.
Best wishes on the ones you have going.
Dee
