I was talking to a man today and he told me a story that was so surprising I just have to ask any boxwood experts out there if what he said was true.

He had just bought an old townhouse with a private formal garden. The garden has not been cared for in a number of years. Since he bought the old townhouse to serve as a dr office I asked him what he was going to do with the garden. He said he didn't know and he had hired a gardener and the gardener didn't have any ideas at all. He said that the reason the ground was unplanted was because it used to contain a formal english boxwood hedge. The previous owner had sold the hedge (sold a Hedge?!) for so much that they were able to pay for the house!!!!!

I have seen boxwoods - they aren't that great - could this be fact or fiction?

It could be true. It is possible to move a fairly large boxwood, and if they had any size to them, and were still dense, they could be worth some bucks. The challenge is to match the owner with a buyer. Matched boxwoods are valuable.
