LOL, I'm sure she's absolutely bored everytime I go to the GH I say come on Trix let's go, she's probably saying, oh jeese do I have to go with you, I"d rather go eat leftovers out of the garden, LOL ( we throw our scraps out there ). here's the first picture up on top, a bigger view of the trellis, it's crooked LOL

I love that greenhouse shot. Are all the plants for personal use, or do you run a nursery there?

I have two different packets. Swallowtail Seeds says nick , Burpee doesn't. Somewhere I saw soaking for an hour, too.

Your dog is so cute! He has the same look on his face my daughter does every time I try to do something in the garden. "Oh, come on,... can't we just go watch cartoons?"

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

Hey, I got a child like that too LOL, he's a teenager though. I do sell alot on ebay, but it's more or less a hobby, I just got a little carried away I guess. LOL I really love the brugmansias, scented geraniums, and begonias. of course there's tons out there. believe it or not i'm trying to clear it out, I want to move that front table in the center completely out of the GH to put all the brugs down on the floor. That' hasn't happened yet. I still have a while before I can get things cleared out to do that. LOL

And the older ones, I had moved these out to the front porch but we had bad thunderstorms so Ibrought them in for a day or so. the trellis is really flimsy, I thought itwould blow over. I'll have to fix that, make it stronger, but there's no blooms yet, i'm patiently waiting. it's all the way past the top of the trellis I made.

My cup and saucer is standing in water! We got about 7 inches of rain yesterday. should I dig it up? Can it take alot of water. It's only about 6 inches tall.

Alas, mine went boots up...I will not give up yet! This thread is an inspiration!

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

Gerris2 I just sent you an email on Gw LOL Did you get it?

Kathy, nope, send it again?

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

Here is my Cup and Saucer, I moved it away from the fence and repotted it to a 5 gallon Bucket. Just in case we move before it blooms.........won't that be a bummer....LOL

that's nice, moving is the pits when you have so many plants you don't want to part with LOL

Mableton, GA(Zone 7b)

You're gonna need a bigger trellis. These things grow and grow and grow up and over and onto the side of the house and up to the gutter and keep going and going. :)

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

yeah, I gues i'm affraid of that, I'm trying to get my husband to build some permanent trellis's in the greenhouse door ways, one on each end, I have lots of vines, quite a few are tropical like this one. I'd love to have it hanging over the doorway of the greenhouse. i better get on the ball if I don't want to have to cut it back when I transplant it. LOL

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

WoW...........woe is me......I dont' have any other place to put it. I was hoping this would do it. How big around does the vine get, bigger than a pencil, smaller?
I have never grown this before and never seen one grown ither..........

me either, my vine, isn't very big around, as big as the telephone cord LOL, but probably over 6 foot tall now. no blooms yet, wishing I don't know why there aren't any blooms on that thing.

I now have white cup and saucer seeds germinating, I got them on ebay.

The vine doesn't get big, it just keeps GROWING. lol It's like a giant hairball if you don't give it somewhere to go. It'll just flop over on itself and keep going. Mine was attaching itself to the wall of the house since it grew taller than the 6' trellis, but when it rains hard it would beat it down off the wall and I'd have to throw it back up and over the top of the trellis. Granted it was under a gutter that overflowed, so it wasn't it's fault that it couldn't hang on. Usually it can stick to anything with all these tiny little sticky tendrils. Oh yeah, those wind up stuck to the house when it falls off too. lol So be careful next to your greenhouse or you'll be doing windows in the fall! It won't bloom for quite a while. The vine gets pretty big before you'll see a flower. But it's worth it. They are so gorgeous and mine flowered very very well up against the north wall of my house in total shade. Just ambient light. My favorite stage is when it first opens up and it's green and it fades from light green up to lavender and then into deep dark purple. I love the green into lavender phase. :)

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

Wow I can't wait. I am trying to find a place that me and it will be happy. I have some cattle panels that I could put it on and they are 16 ft long x 4 ft high. They are really tough and strong.........I think I will do that and if we move in the meantime I will just cut it back to a managable size and let it start over...........
The color sounds just wonderful, I have so many vines I will be in a jungle soon....

LOL
