Ornamental Oregano seeds (Kent Beauty) , they are so dang expensive at the different sites I've visited (the plants I mean), so I'm trying to get the seeds. Do you have them? Thanks, Jill
Desperatly seeking.......
post this over at the seed trading forum. I haven't seen many herb seeds offered yet, but trading is very active there. Good luck!
Thanks Critterologist!
If this plant is a hybrid...and I suspect that it is...it may not come true from saved seeds. You may not get the plant you are searching for, because the offspring of a hybrid will revert back to producing seeds that resemble the parents.
You'll get oregano, and it may resemble the plant you want...but the odds are that what you get from the seeds that are saved will be something similar...but not what you want.
You'll be better off to request a start from someone who needs to thin their plants a little...that way, if it comes off the same root system, it will be the same plant.
Thanks Melody, I may go ahead and order the actual plant , I just wanted to save a little dough - LOL!
I like to help out people who are looking for specific things, so I did an internet search for you. The ONLY place that had ornamental oregano seeds was the following:
http://www.companionplants.com/
Specifically, check out this page.
https://home.frognet.net/~complants/secure/cart/od-oz.htm
Ornamentals are keyed by the code O. If you hit an O, all the others will appear in blue, making them easier to spot.
Not sure of the Latin name of the ornamental oregano you specified, but they have several, all about $4 a pack -- a lot cheaper than buying individual plants. Here's the rest of their contact info:
