Looking for trillium

Decatur, GA(Zone 7a)

In addition to Mudgirl's advice, I would also encourage native plant lovers to join their local native plant societies and go on their digs if they offer them. On my first dig I got 3 (the limit) pink lady slippers, a fairy wand, tons of soloman seals, false soloman seals, 3 and 5 leaf Jack-in-the-pulpit, native azaleas, several different kinds of ferns (ever heard of rattlesnake fern?), ground ginger, and trilliums. We have digs every weekend because North Georgia is being bulldozed so rapidly. It's fun!

Mudgirl,
Your very right!!!!! But:
I have soooo many prairie trillium that I could send 100's to everyone on this thread and still have 1000's more. Now jack-in-the-pulpit is a different story,I have less of them.So I'd be picky as to know I'd send one too.I want them to multiply, trout lilies tons of them too.I found a fern and I only saw one on my property so it won't be touched.I need to take a photo of it to see if someone can ID it for me.I don't have a lot of maidenhair fern either so I won't trade but one or two of them.I'd like to start some of anything native that I don't have. The land has had so many chemicals put on it over the years I can't believe anything is still alive. We put it all in Alfalfa Hay;Now it will have time to recuperate.Wish I could re-direct the neighboors chemicals so they don't run onto my property off his corn and beans, into the creek. No wonder we have frogs with six legs and two heads.
Pins,
Where do I look for native plant societies?????I'd love to relocate them here in a safe zone.Mom will leave this place to me,my son couldn't care less about the enviroment. I might be able to make a park or something like that out of it,nature walks, ect.Wonder how you go about that?
Illinois is already ruined from the farmers. It just makes me sick.Growing genetic corn, ick. If we can't eat it why do they allow the cows to eat it,we eat the cows.
Money,Money,Greed & Greed!

I need to take another walk down in the woods to see if I spot anything new blooming.Maybe tomorrow, lol. Tonight I have to plant some daylilies and roses and get a spot ready for a big box of lilies that's on the way.heehee

Here is the link to our site. It's a wealth of information. http://www.gnps.org/

This is the link to several native plants societies. If your organization doesn't list resuces, ask them if they do, and just don't put them on the web site. http://michbotclub.org/links/native_plant_society.htm

Kim,
Try me! I like lots of plants/flowers/everything green that doesn't take over the place or is obnoxious or annual.
Please make sure it is hardy to my zone.I already fill two bedrooms with tropicals during the winter,it makes it hard to get around.lol.
Pins,
Thanks so much,I think I ran into you on another forum with these links.
