how do I sow papery Easter lily seed

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

I have gotten these several times as extras in trades and do not know what to do with them. I have not had any success trying to grow them when I planted them in pots. Does it take a long time to germinate them or do they need some special treatment?

It is possible for them to take up to 534 days to germinate. Jessamine

Do they need to be stratified, covered with soil or surface sown. I have quite a few so maybe I will just try a few one way and a few another. That way, something will take.
Thanks, I'll know to keep the pots in a permanent place so I can leave them there for a couple of years. LOL
It should be a fun project.

I started a bunch in a moist papertowel in a baggie then I just potted them up. They only took 4-7 days to start sprouting. I had a good germination rate - about 90%. I have no idea how to sow them directly outdoors.

I bet I got them from you. Not sure.
They look so good. Maybe they take 500+ days to produce flowers. When I grew daylily from seed it took three years to get the flower. But it was worth the wait.
Thanks, I'll try that paper towel method.

Sorry, I didn't make my response very clear. Germination is wildly erratic. While some seeds will germinate in a week or so, others may take up to the 500+ days I mentioned. It is likely the seeds will all be hybrids. Many growers believe the best hybrids come from the ones that take longer to germinate. Jessamine
