Do you ever feel compelled to liken your life to a movie? I do, and lately I've been feeling like "How *Shelly* Got Her Groove Back". After four and a half years of intense study, school's out, and, with only one project on my plate now, I'm finally able to get a groove going again. I'd forgotten what it was like to be alive. I was just wondering if it's only my friends and I who find it necessary to find a corrolation between our lives and Hollywood. Do any of you do the same thing? Or am I some kind of weird fish-freak? What movie is YOU? -And please, nothing starring "Candy Samples"... :)
A fish called Pisces
(Your name here), this is your life!
Sometimes I feel like Evelyn Couch in "Fried Green Tomatoes" (Kathy Bates' character). I am 33 and just coming into my own, in a way. I feel less and less like I have to impress others. Gee, and I'm a poet. I love talking with older people and hearing their stories, too. That's my little snippet for today! :o) Kimberley
Silence of the Lambs.......can anyone suggest a nice Chianti?
What? Are there no "Green Card"s out there? The main character IS, after all, a horticulturalist!
Afraid my life is more like an I Love Lucy marathon than a movie...and I an Ethel!
And better "Green Card" than "The Green Mile", LOL. ;o)
After a few minutes of thought, I'd have to say Thomas Crown in "The Thomas Crown Affair".
maybe...
Dave
Sissy....in "Urban Cowboy"... :•)
The Red Sea in 'The Ten Commandments' -
It was a great relief to me to see an educational program where a woman, about 35, said, "why do I still have all these fantasies?" Apparently that never goes away altogether with the advent of adulthood.
Vinca, I just have to ask, what are you being parted from, or with, or why?
Or are you just feeling bloated today?
Well, it was all rainy and chilly today, like fall - and I love fall, mainly because it makes me feel like Barbara Streisand in the beginning of "The Way We Were" - you know, when she first meets Robert Redford and it's all Septembery out?
Kimberley, how are you like Evelyn? That's a really beautiful allusion - she's so WONDERFUL and pensive and full deep down in her soul. I ESPECIALLY like the parking lot scene! lol
Dustin Hoffman in Little Big Man.
Oliver Twist?
They haven't made a movie about me yet, but I do love "Fried Green Tomatoes" and I also love "How to Make an American Quilt" Actually when I think about it I would have to say that the movie that fits me is "Clean and Sober" August 18th will be 4 years.
The barmaid in" The Student Prince"
Michele - CONGRATULATIONS! With four years to your credit, you get to MAKE your own film, AND win an Academy Award!
More public congrats, Michele. Four years is BIG time!
Lead by example!
Bug's Life ~ starring me getting mosquito bit every single time I walk out the door. Me and repel are best friends, I need to buy stock in the company:)
Well, I have to agree that an "I Love Lucy" marathon could reflect my life, too ;-) Or, if we wander off the cinematic trail, The Zoo might be pretty descriptive! I always thought that if I were to right my auto-biography, no one would file it in the non-fiction catagory -- insisting instead that it *must* be fiction!
