I can never keep my fingers away from trying to play. Dab...Dab...Dab.... I had several unusual and different hybridized cuttings of Poinsttia cultivars that I grew for one of my classes. When we got to bring them home, I continued growing them under kitchen lights 24/7 for about a month longer, besides putting out new vegatative growth ,several of the cultivars matured enough to develop seed pods.
I have harvested these seed pods and now I am wondering if anybody has ever propagated any of them. If the one tiny pod the seed, or is there a bunch of seeds, very minute inside the pod. Even though I tried to hyrbidize all the blooms on 12 plants, which was a whole lot of flowers, only about 7 pods took, so I would really like to find some information out, so I don't destroy a potential new cultivar.
Appreciate any help. Thanks

I suggest that you let the seeds dry before removing them. They explode when ripe.
So you must put the plant in a big box, and cover it with screening, the seeds will then fall to the bottom where you can gather them. The should be 3 seeds only per capsule Euphorbis poinsettia is not poisonous. Crasulady2
Do I need to introduce myself? Should I have done that first.
Do any of you object to me being here?

Thanks so much for the information. I had hybridized Winter Rose with Dauncie so I am hoping I can get them to germinate. I just hope the seed will be viable.
You don't happen to know what media and temps I need to try and germinate them at too do you?
I singed up a while back but only be came a member a few months ago thanks to a friend. As far as I know all the threads on Dave's are open to anybody. And anybody who can lend a helping hand is appreciated.
Nice to meet ya!!!!!! Thanks again!
