My tree seedlings (Japanese red maple and Amur maple) just got their first set of real leaves and some are working on their second.
I have some alaska startup fertilizer http://homeharvest.com/plantstarterfertilizer.htm and I was thinking of putting it in a spray bottle and feeding them a little.
Is this a good idea?
thanks for any advice,
Maureen
Fertilizing Seedlings, if yes, when?
Feeding plants is always a good idea if they are growing. Don't feed dormant plants, and make sure you are giving them the correct food for the species. In a timely manner. Norma
Thanks Norma!
In most cases you shouldn't feed seedlings until they have that second set of true leaves. The seed itself contains nutrients for the first couple of weeks. Jessamine
