Lily Seedling picture?

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Okay- I have a pot of lilies I planted... so far one thing has sprouted, it is very tiny (sprouted today at my best guess)... does anyone have a picture of a newly sprouted lily? It's a Phillipene Lily...I think, LOL! Thanks guys!

Newly as in just days old....not weeks.

The pictures I have seen of lily sprouts that look like grass. The sprouts I have from scales are very grass like at first and are just now widening their leaves. I have also seen drawings that indicate that the seed coat may remain attached to the sprout as it rises above soil level before the first true leaves are formed.

omg- I weeded out my lilies and left a weed! Imma go shoot myself now. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
Thank you, LOL.

Ohh thank God! I was looking at the wrong pot! I weeded weeds and left my lilies. Hehe- scared me there for a second. :">

lol...I know the feeling, though with lilies I am very new too...that is why I talk about 'the pictures I have seen' not the lilies I have sprouted....that will happen later on this year...Then I'll ask you about yours!

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

I do hope mine grow! LOL These are some Imma sell oneday. Muhahha
I'm not new to lilies- just lily seeds! It's like a whole new world in lilies for us, LOL. These SHOULD come true to seed- cause they do in my garden when they go to seed.

Go to seed in your garden?? Serious envy setting in...

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hehe sorry Moby, but it's true! I just dug some seedlings up today! So now I know what they look like. Florida has a great growing season, LOL. ya want some?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Oh...the pain and agony!! LOL You bet I'll take a heapin' helpin' of your growing season. Gee, maybe you should bring those babies over and see us at the Missouri RU!

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Moby, LOL..... I'm "not allowed" in Missouri anymore. :-| That's my aunts territory now.
But you can have some come growing season!

crimsontsavo, If you have any extra of your lily seedlings, I would sure like some. I have many things to trade as soon as Wisc. thaws out this spring!!

And who is your dear auntie? ;)

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Moby, where and when is your Mo. roundup?

Do you take plants to trade or what?

Inquiring minds wish to know?

MO-RU is June 4th in Columbia. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/460979/ This and the Iowa RU in Des Moines (in May) will be my first. I believe you can bring along just about whatever extras you have on hand, and also arrange trades with other folks that you know will be there. Someone with more experience can fill you in on the rest!

Dadgummit! I've replied to this thread twice now and forgot to hit enter! LOL Here I go again.

I am not "allowed" in Missourri because my aunt lives there and she hates me and my mum. She's jealous because we live on the family land with my Grandparents and I was a Youth Pastor at "her" church. LOL
She is mad at me because our Pastor and his wife adored me, blah blah.. LOL

Now here's a picture of those lilies. I should have some up for shipping come spring/summer.

They are gorgeous! A lovely breath of summer.

Is it that green now where you live?
You must live out in the country also?
I know, I'm full of questions. Sorry to be a pain where you sit.

Not a pain at all Maxy! I love talking about gardening, hehe.

Yup, were on ten acres in the country just outside of Panama City. "The worlds most beautiful beaches, ha!"

The trees are still green (Oak trees mostly)- but the native grasses have all gone to seed and are a nice wheaty colour. Looks pretty staring out across "the back forty."
(K, the back forty is really only about 3- 3 1/2 acres, hehe.)

It's so warm right now that you can wear a tee shirt and shorts! Or even go swimming! Sending some warmth y'alls way-
-Jocie.

P.S- We just found about a gazillion of those lilies growing in ym grandmothers garden- they are from seed I scattered earlier last month!

You know, I could learn to hate Floridians... (Bundled up & trudging thru snow to get the maibox)

Me too, with the temps below -zero that we have been having. throw in a NW wind going gale force and you have something to crow about!!

I'm getting too old for this dang type of weather.
