More help with seed starting please

St. Louis, MO(Zone 5b)

Hello all,

After reading this thread: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/382293/ I have some questions:

Does the Deno method only work for seeds that don't need statification?
Also, would this work with tree seeds? How long before one should expect to see leaves sprout after the planting the seeds with newly sprouted roots?

Thanks very very much for any help,

Maureen

Sorry for so many questions, this is my first time growing anything from a seed, and I really want to get it right.

I'm very happy today because my tree seedlings are starting to push up, after being planted saturday! This site has helped alot, thanks all!

Howdy Maureen...

Congrats on your seeds declaring!

I've used the 'deno' method quite often, most often for germination tests but from time to time to pre-start seedlings. Have tried it on seeds that need stratifying but have used it for seeds that benefit from scarifying (moonvine).

Perhaps someone will come along who can offer more input.

Welcome to DG! Be seeing you around the site!

Hey thanks!

Seeing them grow just makes me happy!
