Brugie, no I don't drive the car to Mexico. I ride with friends cause those crazy drivers make me nervous and I can't tell which street has right of way and which are one way in or out.(those international signs are so confusing, lol)
Now I think I'll go out and sit by the pool and sip a margarita in the moonlight. There's a soft breeze, it's in the 70's.............on second thought I saw something big with green eyes down by the resaca and big chicken dog(Bleu, he's part chicken) was standing on this side of the pool barking at it, but wouldn't go to the fence and see what it was!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Hmmmmm , ya gonna sit under yer 'nana trees ? While smelling the brug perfumed air ?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I was just thinking how nice it is for you guys to post your winter snow and icicles pictures......................... for us who are suffering so without them in winter. Gets us thru this terible feeling of lack in our winter lives.

Hey Susie, pour me a margarita.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Yes, kell....you are right...I really miss the snow and ice and freezing weather like I used to enjoy when I lived on the east coast!!

Susie...please pour one for me too!! ;-)))

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Margaritas all around! Anybody got any snacks to pass around?
I have to admit, the snow on Christmas day was so beautiful. The neighbors were all outside playing in it, it was nice but I also hope it's another hundred years before it happens again. If I want to see snow, I'll go visit my northern friends!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Well i still have a ton of candy pretzels, BonBons, walnuter clusters, millionaires, and fudge. Yall have at it lol.

Spring Hill, FL(Zone 8b)

I dont care what they say, come summer time in Florida they will be singing a different tune. Just waking up and the sweat starts to pop on your forehead is enough. Never mind IF you are lucky enough to have A/C in your car........which I dont...........you open the door up and instant Mr. Magoo. Nevermind the sticking to vinyl seats......had to be a man to invent them...... If you can make it through all that and still have your sanity you are a better man than I am Gunga Din...........In the summer unless you have alot of inside places to stay it is miserable...........Up north you hibernate in the winter,,,,,,, down here in the summer............ok...... sure gonna hear it now.........But there is still something to be said for seeing the Sun every day, at least for a few seconds...

Stay Safe

I see I'm not the only person up early here. As soon as I logged on the weather warnings started going off for our Winter Strom Watch. Jan 1st it's Ice, and now we're to get heavy snow? Now I know why they refer to it as OLD MAN WINTER. The Grumpy old coot can't ever make up his mind. And he's never happy unless everyone else is miserable. Here's hopeing we midwesterners make it through this next round of winter intact. Drive careful everyone.

I spent my first 16 yrs in Chicago and regardless of what anyone says about the hot summers in Florida, I will take a few months of heat over 9 months of cold in a heartbeat. I was without A/C in my car for years and in the house for a whole summer before I could replace it and honestly, it was not bad.
Open the doors and windows and turn on the ceiling and floor fans and it was tolerable. The worst time was at night. I do like to sleep with in a bit cooler at night but heck, in Chicago, we had a "summer porch" with beds we would sleep on when it was too hot in the summer there also. I went back to Chicago some years ago in July for a family reunion, thinking the cool weather would be a nice change. It was like 101 most days we were there.
And no gulf breezes! In the summer, you just adapt your outside activities around the heat. I do work m-f so I do my gardening in the evening and on weekends, I go out around 7am and can get in several hours before it gets hot. When it gets hot, you do housework or crafts or go shopping (I know it's rough but you gotta do what you gotta do!) The good part is that even with the heat, you can still garden all year.

I'm with you Budgielover! I would much rather have sweat rolling for three months than cold weather the majority of the year. But I also agree with Earthling regarding the soil. Instead of nice, rich earth, we have hard-baked rock and clay. Of course, we can amend our soil but can't change that cold weather! :-)
70s and raining here today. (BTW, we've also had the airconditioner on for the last three days.)

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

I think everyplace has it's goods and bads weather-wise....

except California!!! I will take any and all of its weather any time!!! :-)))

BTW...I know what east coast weather is like....I had it for many years on LI and OH until 1974 when I moved out here!

Don't throw rock at me please! Today is my BD !!! (grin) !!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARGIE!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I agree, I'll take a few months of heat over snow and ice any day! It's 85 here and breezy right now. We do have a constant breeze which really helps in the summer and only occasionally get to 100*, even in July and August. In TN we had 100* lots of days with 98% humidity and NO breeze!
Happy birthday Margie!

Keep your eye on the national news. It wouldn't surprise me if we make the news with this ice storm that will be hitting here within about 5 or 6 hours. Jim came in for lunch and said his truck has a half inch of ice on it already and there is no way he can get the doors open. I guess I don't know why he would want to try anyway. I wouldn't drive anyplace on this stuff. Hope my internet doesn't go down with the storm.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Sounds terrible. I do not think I have ever seen an ice storm.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Brugie, will you be able to stay warm if the power goes off?

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

You guys are so cruel but you are missing the nice scenery

Susie, probably not. One good thing about where we live....we have a highway location. Those on gravel roads are usually the last to get power back on. I've known it to be off three days with ice storms, so we will just wait and see what happens. Might be time to bring out the blankets.

Kell, come on out. I'll show you what they are like. LOL!

bronson, IA(Zone 4a)
