Icicle, anyone?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Here is a picture of what is going on here today. You can see the icicles forming above the bay window and the ice on the side window. It isn't pretty out there.

This is the north window in the livingroom. Not much to see through it. Pretty boring sight.

burrrrrr, I've been in the high 60s-low 70s. I worked in the yard yesterday in short sleeves. Abnormally warm for me and I dread to think what Jan-Feb will bring.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Have I mentioned lately how much I HATE winter? If not, I HATE WINTER!!!

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

Great pictures Shirley....sure looks COLD. Glad I am wearing shorts here ;oP

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

That do look cold Shirley. Not good brug weather.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

brrrrrr Shirley to cold for me. Glad we have warmed back up. Have the a/c back on as of last night lol.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Shirley...it looks freezing outside...but your green plants in the windows can at least keep you happy, I hope!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Brugie, thanks for the pics ...... brrrrrrrrrrr !

We are under an ice alert but so far it is still dry here.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh my, the AC is back on? I could handle having to do that. We have natural AC right now and I'm with Kristi on this one.....I hate winter. Maybe in another part of the country, it could become a favorite season. Snow tomorrow night. I guess winter is finally here. Sorry the pictures were taken from inside, but I wasn't about to go out and bust my butt trying to get a picture. LOL! I did step out the back door to spray some brine on the sidewalk. Need to go see if it worked.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Brrrr, it looks cold Shirley!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Sorry to see all that, Shirley. We had enough of it last week, then this week it has been in the 70's and now we are having thunder storms.

Having been born and raised in North Dakota, then living several years in Ohio, I learned to hate winter, too. What we get here in Texas is bad enough....but then to compensate, we have the ghastly hot summers, so its a trade-off.

I also wish I had some of the rich soil that is in North Dakota, instead of this hard as a rock clay stuff they call soil here...I would imagine you also have that rich black dirt there in Iowa....Nothing like being able to dig without using a pick ax..LOL

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Brrrrrr, keep the snow up there please! It is 80 and cloudy here right now, I'll send warm thoughts your way Shirley.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

looks like the same weather we had, now it is melting and we are under flood watch.

Me to hate winter! Oh sure rub it in that some people are wearing shorts and have their AC on....sheesh....what meanies!
Here is a picture of the front of the house with all the white flowers blooming.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

LOL, it sounds like we are going to have 8-10 inches of those white flowers tomorrow night. That will be nice on top of ice. Doris, I'm glad your ice is melting. It isn't safe to be out on it, so let's get rid of it.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

LOL Brugie, only problem is they say we will get snow, and maybe ice later this week

bronson, IA(Zone 4a)

We got the ice up here too--but we are only suppose to get 6 inches of white stuff up here--hope we miss it again--Im starting to get cabin fever--I want to go outside--I hate winter too!!!

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

It was rough here this weekend. I had to move some of my plants.
The palms were throwing too much shade:-)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Budgie.................look out. Those of us in cold country might have to get even with you for that one. LOL!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I had to go down into Mexico today, whew! I'm sweating now, it was hot there!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh, they are ganging up on us northerners. LOL! Do you take your vehicle into Mexico?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

No kidding they are ganging up on us....not fair! I hope they make them walk across the border.
;P Donna

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

OK you guyz down there . Be nice or we'll send ya another 'Cold Shot' hehehehe

bronson, IA(Zone 4a)

I agree--I think those sunshine girls are picking on us poor frozen northern girls--maybe we all should take a road trip to there house for a couple of months--sounds like fun!!!!

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

OK, We'll be nice and just sit here by the pool sipping our drinks and minding our own business.
Gee, I think my brugs just grew another inch.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

I got a new suitcase/trunk for Xmas. I can stay for a long, long time. Let's get them!
;) Donna

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I think I'll pack light in case I get the boot after I've been there a while. Can always make myself at home and use the washer and dryer while things are going well. LOL! Oh yes, I'll grab a few inches of those brugs on my way out the door too.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Gosh ... they sure are really rubbing it in. We have had rain here today but none of it is freezing yet thou there is a chance. Hopefully it will stay south of me!! Were are expecting snow come around wednesday or so!! I don't mind the snow ... hate the freezing rain/ice/black ice!! You all stay safe there.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Deb, I'd bet you will get the snow. We are supposed to get some, but the heavier snow is to be north of me. More toward Kyle and on north. It's supposed to hit here tomorrow night. Seriously, I'm glad you haven't had the ice. It is pretty hard to deal with and from what I just heard on the scanner, still hard to drive on. Sounds like three cars piled up east of town a ways.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Me too! I hate winter!!! During Christmas it was literally freezing here, and this week its been in the 70's and rainy... I'll take my temps over yours any day, though!

bronson, IA(Zone 4a)

Shirley- they have just updated our forecast and now we are suppose to get 6-12 inches of snow--think it would be a good sick day from work!!! I told my husband that when I retire Im moving south--he doesnt want to so I told him I would write him a letter once a year--I think he will change his mind--

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

LOL!! Poor guy is going to have a big job taking care of your place when you leave to go South. Gosh, I think we might be the lucky ones this time. Hope it doesn't get too bad for anyone.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I am so glad I live in the south. I really couldn't deal with what you all go through. When FIL retired and decided to move to Fl he said we could have the house there in Michigan. DH said no way: 19 years of snow was enough for him lol.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Smart man. I do like the different seasons, but from what I hear, you guys have enough change to keep me happy.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

yep ours winters are like a roller coaster ride

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Ours are too, Donna. Now we're having Spring weather and the peach growers in SC are worried that they're going to lose all their crop if it doesn't get cooler soon but I love this warmer weather.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

Hey, DonnaB. Will there be peaches when I come???
:) Donna
