Oops...forgotten bulbs!

Yazoo City, MS(Zone 7b)

I really goofed and forgot about planting the bulbs I got from the Bloomingbulb coop. Most were Asiatic and Oriental lilies. Should I just put them in paper bags and plant them this spring? Some that were in the plastic bags had a little mold on them, so I soaked them for a few minutes in bleach water and then air dried them. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Yvonne,

I would plant them as soon as possible - don't wait uintil spring. Have you been keeping them refrigerated? (Hopefully yes). You can plant lilies at any time as long as the ground's not frozen, which should be the case most of the time in your area. Lilies need to be in soil or some kind of medium to prevent them from drying out.

I echo Steve's reply.....get 'em in the ground...quick!

Hey, I was still planting bulbs in December in Iowa. Ground is frozen now,but I expect a little thaw in the next week or so. Go for it!

I planted them, but I'm not expecting too much. They just didn't feel right to me...soft and fragile-like. Guess I'm spoiled by daylily roots! They are Tough!

Oh you'd be surprised what you'll get from them. Unless they were down right moldy, soft is not totaly a bad thing.
Let us know how they do come Spring.

If even part of the bulb is strong, it will make it. Think of everyone peeling off scales & starting new bulblets from them.

Thanks for all the help and positive thinking!
