love the clematis i tried this year with little sucess to grow those pesky plants maybee next year they will do better how old and where do you have the clematis ? thanks shawn

Campbell River, BC(Zone 8a)

The first clematis, Ville de Lyon is 13 years old, the second, Mrs. N. Thompson is 14, and the last, Jadwiga Teresa syn. General Sikorski is 7 years old. The Ville de Lyon is growing on the fence in the southwest corner of the garden. Mrs. Thompson is on the fence on the west side and the General is growing up a wooden archway on the east side of the house. Some of them do seem to be rather finicky. I hope you have better luck next year.

My favourite is the "General", Sandy. Lovely color! They sure do have complicated names, don't they?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Rats. I have 2 named Hems. Cdn Border Patrol and Absolutely Fabulous. Haven't seen either of them bloom so was really happy to see what CBP looked like. Oh well. Next year.

Oh yes, I do have some Stella d-Oros, as well.

Have 16 in my veggie garden up north, all with labels properly buried underneath them. Will be bringing them to the city next spring so will find out what they are.
