I need to start these now for next year, but does that mean I have to have them in their permanent home? Do I plant them in ground or can I start them in pots??
thanks

tiG, I've had no trouble starting them in pots. They don't do a lot their first season. Second year you'll get a few flowers & third year they really take off. You can start them in the ground and move them to their permanent location before they get too big. They're tap rooted so be sure to dig out the entire root. Good drainage is must ... I've had some not come through the winter where the soil stayed too wet in spring.
