I tried to tell her that, and she called me "mommy".... :-)
You want snow? I'll give you *Snow*!
LOL...now whose whinning.... Take me with a grain of salt sometimes, I get kinda goofy if I sit at this computer too long! Besides, I am not that old that I can't do a little shovelling! Humpf
Never look a giftweatherman in the mouth, Sandy. Just hope he continues to be wrong for you. The snow stopped here, yesterday afternoon and turned to rain. This morning it isn't doing either, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will clear. Temperatures are supposed to reach +5 today and +8 for tomorrow and Saturday. Hope our weatherman is more accurate than yours, Sandy. :)
Hmmm...more accurate, that doesn't sound right...
It's not an age thing at all, "OldFlowerGirl"! zing! :-D Seriously. I know if anyone else has my low activity level, the first snow shovelling can be treacherous...not to mention ice, etc. And I'm only 34.
34!!, my Lordy, just a baby, for heaven's sake!! LOL If it's not an age thing, why did take me 5 minutes just staring at the screen trying to figure out what zing meant? LOLOL
Now in reference to my "group name", the only reason I chose OldFlowerGirl, was that FlowerGirl was taken, as was FlowerLady. So added the "Old" to make the other two names materialize. OldFlowerLady, sounded a little too close to "OldBagLady" LOL Of course, after hearing how old you are...I do feel old! ;-)
You guys are so funny. I'll stick up for Donna cuz I think you and I are around the same age. Rats, wouldn't you know it, I was just thinking of taking the dog for a walk and it's starting to rain. We had a lovely day yesterday...nice and sunny but today it's windy and gray.
amazing how different the weather can be over 150 mi away. Yesterday when nightowl2 had such a lovelt sunnt day, we had probably 29 different systems come through. Wind, rain, sun for 5-10 min. then repeat. The rain was so hard, and sudden at times, I thought it was hail. During the evening, it would be like someone had turned on a huge hose on, it would start so fast and so heavy. If it was (way!) warmer.... it'd seem like the tropics.
When I lived in Victoria I was always amazed that the weather could be so different from Vancouver. A bit sunnier on average, if memory serves. And those strong, strong winds! I still remember standing on the cliffs at Clover Point and leaning into them; they could literally prop you up, or knock you over if you're not careful.
All right you guys, no age-ism here... ;-) Don't kick me out of the gang or make me sit at a side-table during our RU dinners...lol Actually Donna it felt good when you said 'just a baby', as I've been feeling all run-down and decrepit for oh, the last 10 years or so. I'm thinking of applying for an exemption from a mid-life crisis; just don't think I'm up to another one. Yes, I'll have some cheese with that. :-)
You silly goose, you! Of course it felt good. It should feel good. Never apologize for being young. Embrace it, enjoy...because it's fleeting. Besides, you're not the only young chickie are you? I bet there are others at the RU that are your age. Come on, young uns' stand up and be counted! Whose under 40 here?
i'll bet yumiko is
not me, and I still have a BD coming this month...
AhHa, gotta be Paradise. Nobody can have that much energy and be over 40! Fess up Ingrid!
Don't make me sit at the RU making '80s pop music references all by myself... :-( lol
Linda, you little sneaky, you! You aren't listed under the member birthdays! For those who don't know, you can view member birthdays by month if you look under "extras" in the top tabs of the Home page. there are quite a few of us celebrating our Birthdays in December. Including you Brugcrazy. Only one more week being 39, right?
Well, definitely springier than me! This chicken will be 57 on the 25th...Gee I wish I was gonna be 25 on the 57th...oh well :-(
Donna, you're a Christmas Capricorn!
What good would it do to be 25 again? You'd have to relearn so much of life!
I had a friend who would get amazingly offended if someone guessed her age at younger than she was - she said it insulted the intelligence she's gathered over the years. A different way to look at it I suppose...lol.
OHHHH, I don't think I'd mind being 25 again. I would do things over or just plain "do things" that I never did and that I have learned over the years, would have been the better thing to do! Is that as clear as mud, or what?
edited to say: Christine, are you calling me a goat? Now, you know, I've already warned Brenda about that!

Yeah, I guess I am a member of the old Goat signees. Actually, I am surprised that Brenda didn't jump in there with a "if the name fits, wear it", or something similar. Not feeling well today, Brenda? Be happy, It's Friday!
No, that is something my wonderful family always made sure of as I was growing up. I always got double presents. Much to my younger brother's chagrin! I can still picture the crossed arms and sour face as he watched me open many more presents, after he was all done opening his! LOL I always got a birthday cake as well. I still get double presents now from my kids and hubby and Mom, but I stopped the birthday cake thing a few years ago. With all the sweets available at Chrsitmas, I didn't really need a cake anymore and neither did my waistline!
The only thing that I never had was a birthday party on my "real day" as a kid. I always had my Birthday party before or between Christmas and New Years. But looking back, I don't think even that bothered me much! I still felt, as I do now, very privileged to have been born on Christmas Day. And I share the birthday with such Great company! :D
People have often wondered or felt bad for my Mom. But she always assured those who asked that it was fine with her because, as she tells it, She went to church that morning, came home and opened presents with my older sister and my Dad, then she cooked Christmas Dinner that day and then started to have contractions. She ate her dinner with the rest of the family and then after dinner, asked my Dad to take her to the hospital, where I was born at around 9:00 pm. She laughs and recalls that she didn't have to clean up or do the dishes that night, and had a nice week long rest after a very busy Christmas Week! God Bless her! Love ya Mom!
That's so cool, Christine! She is obviously born to be a Mom! Remember to tell her to insist on double presents too, when that happens! LOL That was kind of memorable for you too. Quite an accomplishment, I'd say. Way to Go!
Swinging 43 in April.....
eeks!!!
Ingrid
Donna if I'm the Brenda you warned, I don't remember what your talking about. What's the point of giving digs about age. Hopefully we all get old some day, cause we're none too fond of the alternative.
Edited to say, I didn't want to say that. Oh, look I didn't.

LOL, absolutely the truth, Echoes! I often think about the ones who didn't have a chance to get as "old" as I have, and then I have to feel a little sheepish about all the complaining I do. There is some one in another group that I belong to that when she posts, she often adds a little prayer about God allowing to see another day. It always makes me think too. :D
Oops, wait a minute, I take it all back Donna. I'm not anywhere near your age. LOL
Donna! we have the same birthday. Mine's the 25th as well. I'll be turning 45. I was about 6 weeks early though.
My family always kept it separate. We'd have christmas presents, in christmas paper in the morning, then at dinner, we'd have birthday cake, instead of christmas cake althrough the season, and after dinner, birthday presents with birthday wrapping. And I too never got a real birthday party. When I turned 41, the folks form work gave me a party a week before Christmas. Everyone wore red! It was a great party. I didn't wear red, I wore a black tux.
Linda in Victoria
Oh, way to go Sandy! Make me feel ancient! Or does that mean you are far Older! LOL
Well aren't we both lucky ducks. I have always loved having my birthday on Christmas. Have you? And I love the Christmas Season too. Carols, decorations...
Actually, you are the luckier one! I'd love to be turning only 45! Your growing up traditions were very much like mine, except, my birthday wrapped presents were put under the tree and opened along with the Christmas ones.
How cool that you got a party at work. I don't think I was ever so honored. You must be a very well liked colleague.
You know, I've met so few people that share my birthday, that this is really neat for me. Whoo Hoo!
Ooh, you got me. That was a good one. No, even Jeanne is older than me.
OK Sandy, now I am getting really insulted. If Jeanne is only 52, and she says she's not much older than you...then what is this "not anywhere near your age!
How weird, message got cut off. Must be that Italic stuff does it. I went on to say...I am 57, not 97!!!
Then I called out to Weezi..saying.."Weezi, help, she is picking on me! You tell her too, that 57 is not THAT old, right?"
This message was edited Dec 11, 2004 9:49 AM
Oh Sandy, now you've done it....LOL :-D
And I'm older than the lot.........62, just like Harrison Ford!
Now, isn't THAT convenient....LOL
