Los Angeles offers 5-gallon trees

Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power is offering FREE 5-GALLON SHADE TREES to consumers through its Trees for a Green LA program. If LADWP customers attend a free, 1-hour workshop (or an online, 20 minute workshop) and take a quiz, they can receive up to 7 free trees. The workshops detail proper tree planning and planting, and help residents develop a site-specific plan for their own residences. For every dollar spent on the program, about $17.50 will be saved as avoided costs for energy supply and air pollution control, according to LADWP.
