Today was bright and sunny and not overcast like it has been for almost a week and I worked outside most of the day. It was only 75 here but the brugs and seedlings were not use to the sun. Before shutting the greenhouse, I took a picture of Susanne. It was taken with a flash because my daughter borrowed my camera this weekend and changed many settings on it and I could not get the flash to turn off. Gee whiz, there is so much that I need to learn about this camera. . . if only I had the time.

Oh Frannie, she is really pretty. Great color and it climbs the corolla tube nicely. The tendrils are nice and I don't remember what you said about her fragrance in the greenhouse. Mine is very strong to the point of burning my nose. I just don't know how this one can be beat. The size of the bloom is awesome too. I glanced at mine today when I was out picking a couple of seed pods and it had better color and some good recurve. Amazing how they can look so different in different parts of the country.

Oh man!! She is just too beautiful!!

I think it likes the cooler weather and it is one of those that gets darker when it is cool. My Butterfly that bloomed last January was pretty dark and I had it in the garage and it was cold. I think temperature, humidity and sunlight has a bearing on how individual brugs color up and even how they smell. I hope next year that many of you get the experience of growing this brug. The blooms are big, the fragrance is very nice, not the heavy scent but not real strong. I wish mine was a strong fragrance like Brugie's but that shows you the environmental difference.

LOL, BrugNanny, I hope, too, that I get a chance to grow one out. I really believe that temp, zone, humidity, yada, yada, all, have a great deal to do with how brugs develop and grow out...

Absolutely stunning!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It is cool here Frannie and mine is not so pink! BOO!!!!!!!!!!! But I must say it was dark this summer. Mine had great recurve also Brugie. It is a real girlie girl pink brug. A perfect brug to be named after our very own Susie! Frannie your picture is so perfect, what pink dreams are made of!

I was trying to think if it is the best pink I have and it might be! I have to grow it longer in flower and grow an allee tree to fully evaluate it! I will say once it started to flower it has flowered nonstop!

I think I have a big Susanne X red pod on her! LOL!!!!! I should check tomorrow for sure though I just pollinated a few more flowers on her last week with red. I sure hope they take.

I hope that many of you have the opportunity to grow this one. Hopefully, it will be released soon. Not only is it quite lovely, it also has an awesome fragrance which reminds me of Butterfly. The only thing wrong with this plant is that it is only about 2 - 2 1/2 feet tall and this is its only bloom....lol. I can only imagine what it would be like to see 25 blooms on it.

Maybe it will put up a shoot from the roots. Must have been a cutting from the flowering region (see, I am learning).
