I had a surprise in my garden today. I've planted both obscura and ochracea but neither germinated or so I thought. I saw a vine coming up out of one of the pots some months later but thought perhaps I replanted with other mgs but didn't mark the pot so I thought nothing of it. The original label came off so I'm not sure if this is obscura or ochracea. All the pictures I see of obscura show a very light, almost white flower whereas this is very yellow but only 1 1/2 inches across.
What do you think?
Ipomoea Obscura or Ochracea?
It looks like I. Obscura....but the color looks like Ochracea. Interesting.

Thanks

Very unique, isn't it.
Yes it is. I'm a morning glory addict. I have a few seedlings of Ochracea started so I am excited to see the difference in person if they bloom.
I have that one, but its not that yellow. It just blooms and blooms and the vines aren't so heavy that they are a problem.
That's why I wasn't sure if it was obscura. All the pics I've seen are more white than yellow.
I like the color of yours better!
If it sets seeds, I'll keep you in mind.

I was trying to get a picture of mine but it is not blooming right now....I agree, yours is a darker yellow :)
Jan, I collected a few seeds from mine today if you want to try them. I should have taken the camera out too and taken a picture.
Hi,
Sure I would love to try them. It will be interesting to compare the 2. I have a few left I can spare from the group this one came from.
My address is in the address listing.

Hi Joseph,
I don't have any extra but hopefully by spring I will.
