And our #2 cat, Sophie aka. Sophie-pie, furry-boots, girly-boots, Sophie-cakes, daddy's little princess, etc. etc. etc. Sophie was a SPCA treasure, also from Edmonton. As soon as I pulled her gently out of the cage, she curled up in my arms and started purring!

Sophie would like to state for the record that the blue tag shaped like a doggie bone, of all things, was NOT her idea...lol

And our #3 cat, Scruffy, who adopted me after a couple of years on the lam in our back alley in Edmonton. How he got through those winters, I'll never know. He was a real rabble-rouser - now he's the biggest teddy-cat of the bunch.

And finally all three, playing with their new cat-nip pillows!

Your cats all look so nice and cuddly, especially Franklin...the way he's curled up. I wish my cat was a cuddly one. I do pick her up but I must admit I'm a bit afraid of her ever since she bit me a couple of years ago. I had an intravenous in the back of my hand for about 5 days and had to go to the ER 3 times a day for antibiotics. Cat bites can be so bad. A few people said to me "And you still have the cat?". I love her and I couldn't get rid of her just because of that, especially since it was probably my fault. I put my body over her to cuddle her a bit and I think she thought I was trying to pin her down or something. It's a good thing Harley is pretty cuddly.

minou is french for kitten i think and was the name she had when surrendered to the SPCA by her original owner

i had made a promise to the almost four year old great niece to adopt a kitten for her last spring

never thought there would be a waiting line for kittens but there was and we missed out

since this is a difficult thing to explain to an almost four year old i quickly looked around and saw this little bright eyed calico that was 10 months at the time and said 'do you like that kitty'

fortunately the answer was yes and i have been grateful many times since to whomever up there watches over me as she came already child friendly and i didn't have to go thru the climbing on the drapes and driving me crazy stage

she now lives at the farm where she is the boss of everything and everyone wants to take her home she may come home for the really cold months but so far she loves the freedom of the farm

Shannon, great to see you kids again too; they're looking especially cuddly these days. Lupin's recovered from her illness; I think she still feels a little traumatized though. Same here, we'll get over it eventually...lol.

This is such a great thread, with great pets & owners. Love pet pix. I'm a little late finding this, have company right now, but I'll add my Barney's photo to the list. He is 14 yr old & has really helped me through some tough times.

Barney is a Cutie Pie, broots. His fur looks so silky and soft. Reminds me ao a little teddy bear. :D

What a sweetie. He sure doesn't look 14.

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

i've always had big dogs but every time i see a little one like your barney i'm captivated by the energy that shines out those eyes. they always look like they're just thinking of the next trick they are going to come up with

Broots, Barney is so cute! He looks like "Personality Plus"!!

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

What a cutey-patootie! :-) He looks perfectly perky and alert.

Was that fuzzy black bolster on the left-hand side of the chair put there to keep Barney from rolling off in his sleep? :-)

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

He's a sweetie broots! :) Shannon love your menagerie, nightowl yours looks so content and cute, ceedub your calicoes are gorgeous, Jeanne's Oscar looks to have quite the personality, Lynn love your horses....if I wasn't allergic to them I'd kidnap Timber in a second! :)

Thanks Pam, they're our little 'regulators' - regularly reminding us when its time to be brushed, time to go outside for some air, time to fill our bowls, time to go to bed, time to have some catnip .... lol.

Hi Harley-welcome to DG!! Good to meet you, neighbour!! You look like a real nice friendly guy.

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Look at those eyes! What a sweetheart. Tell us about Harley, Lazygirl.

Pickering, ON(Zone 5b)

Harley, is a great dog....I think of him as my shadow....because I can never leave a room without him following me. When I go out of the house he sits by the window and waits till I return....... He thinks he is a lap dog....but in fact he is a whopping 85lbs, still thinks he's a lap dog.....LOL. At the moment he is curled up by/on my feet.

Anna

An 85 lb lap dog curled at ones feet - sounds just heavenly right now - all I have at my feet right now is my dictaphone transcriber pedal.....lol.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

Harley looks like just the kind of dog we want to get next. And his attributes are perfect.

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

cap used to be my shadow completely too. Now as soon as I sit at the computer screen she gets up and leaves the room - think she is trying to tell me something???

Lynne, my cats do the same thing. The message is, essentially, "this bores me", I need a nap.

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Wish I could say the same. My Callie cat, waits for me to sit at the computer, and then she is either in my lap, half on the keyboard or on the desk flicking things on the floor. She's a nuisance sometimes. Trying to type when she is sitting up is nearly impossible. When she is laying down on my lap, I can't slouch, so I get uncomfortable fast. Our computer is in an office on the second floor, so when our Buddy dog sees me heading up ('cause he know's I'm not usually going to make the bed, LOL) he'll curl up on his favourite step by the front door to wait. If I am too long, he'll come up and lay on the floor beside me until I'm done. Ya gotta love 'em!

Great name for a dog Anna. He looks like he has a lovely nature.
