Is it a good one?
We always break ours
What kind of stuffing do you make?
It was in the rating area of America's Test Kitchen. They rated 3 as very good. The best was $45, out of my budget. 2 others were rated. A zyliss at $27 and the Oxo at $19.99. They had a link to Amazon where I bought my Oxo at half-price.....
So funny you mention that Betty. My DH jus told me last night he wants a good pepper mill and told me to go look at America's test kitchen website. I told him all about your posts!
Kell, check this url http://www.thegadgetsource.com/pepper---spice-mills.html > this is the place i get all my cooking gadget at a very reasonable price. their prices are always so low compared to other places. if i were to pick i would like one of those brass pepper mills... which actually is a middle eastern coffee grinder. http://www.thegadgetsource.com/764443001030.html , i do not know how anyone could break one like that! i would think even my great-great grand kids would benefit to use that one LOL!
I'm impressed by all your 'dressings and stuffings!' Made my mouth water, I dearly loved my ex-mother-in-laws cornbread dressing, she was from Dallas, Texas, before I became an acomplished cook, I too used boxed dressings, and it was always great too! I've had Oyster dressing in the past, yum, delicious I must say, I've started a new tradition at our house, one I learned from my DH friend's Jewish Mom many years ago, Matza stuffing, with celery, onions, apples, chestnuts I pan cooked myself and peeled, and raisins, but I actually used dried cherries instead that I soaked first, I forgot to put in the 5 eggs, lol, but it did turn out to be a hit regardless, and elders were happy for my mistake (cholesterol thing), oh well, I purchased a Willy Bird, natural, organic, just wanted to see the difference, tender as could be, I would have tried the brine thing, but again, elders and too much salt didnt mix, I ALWAYS studd turkey with garlic, a lot of it, and stuffed the bird first with whole carrots, celery, onion and 2 garlic heads till the bird's temp reached 165F then removed to put around the turkey, then inserted the dressing, and made sure to add wine around the bird, and basted a lot, then made garlic smashed potatoes with that wonderfull cooked garlic!! that's my version, Annie
I haven't had one to break; just quit working. He had the last one for about 3 years. I didn't look for a consumer's rating anywhere when I bought it. I was determined this time to get a little input. I am so gratful to have America's Test Kitchen.
