Morning Glory in doors

PNW, WA(Zone 8a)

I started some feathered morning glory inside about 3 weeks ago. Just a couple of each color because I wanted to see if I could get them to bloom in doors. I also would like to see if I could get some seeds from them if I could get them to bloom. They are under cool/warm florecents. One is starting to wrap around the shelving leg even now. Has anyone had any luck with them blooming in these kind of conditions?

If the leaves are spaced normally along the vine then you've probably got sufficient light and will bloom eventually. Hope you can take pics and post. That'd be cool.

8ftbed- I'm glad you said that about the leaves. I checked and the leaves were starting to space out a bit so I bolstered them up closer to the light. When they were under my seedling lights they were within 2 inches but since they've gotten bigger they go to a different set of lights which I minipulate the highth by moving the plants up or down. I moved these up. I did get one good indication that I could get lucky. About 3 weeks ago I did a rescue on a mini rose at Lowe's for a dollar. It had bugs and was pretty bedragled looking. The only light it's had since I brought it home was the same the light the MG's are under. Well I noticed tonight that the rose has buds and is about to bloom. So there is hope.

You can help your light by bouncing it in as well. If nothing else, your trays are on a bright white surface or even put the shiny side of aluminum foil up. If there's no windows I've even had foil, mirrors or you can get some mirror film, and had that around the sides and back of the rack or table to redirect the light into the plants. If it's on the bottom then it's bouncing the light back up into the plants.

It helps. Kind of getting the most mileage out of the avail light. You've probably seen or heard of the use of red plastic sheeting for mulch on tomatoes? Same thing as the light bounces off that shiny red surface back up into the plants except it's red tinted. (supposedly increases fruiting because they try to outcompete what they think are neighboring plants) Depends on who you talk to whether it works or not. :) But you definitely see the red light bounced up into the foliage.
