I've been kicking around the idea of doing a dahlia coop for Spring delivery. Any interest? If there is enough interest I will probably start the coop soon as most growers are taking orders for Spring 2005.
I've emailed the following companies about a possible group discount purchase.
Swan Island

Connell's

Accent Dahlias

I'm looking at other growers as well so if you know of any good ones you've ordered from I'd love to hear about them.
Interest in a Spring Dahlia Coop?
oh please please please please...... i would love to participate. I love dahlias! I promise to exercise as much restraint as possible...
yes! yes! yes! count me in! belinda

I'm interested, although I really won't know UNTIL spring if I have enough sun. Maybe I can trade any if I cannot use them.
yes! Count me in!
I would love to try my thumb at growing Dahlias. Did you post this in the coop Forum? I didn't see it there. Might try for a better response. Thanks for the offer!! Yes for me too. Margie, AKA Queen of Dirtland, loudigger
Margie - can't post to the coop forum until a coop is actually approved and started. Trying to gauge interest level before I put more work into it at this point.
Oh, I didn't know how it works. Sure hope the interest showes up :)
Thanks for the info.
Count me in!!
I am also interested in the dahlia coop.
Thanks.
Mary
woo hoo!
I would definitely order some.
I'd be in on a dahlia co-op for sure as mine never make it through the winter and I always need new ones come spring.
Count me in!

Well Swans and Connell's are out. Right now it's looking like we'll get the best price from Lobaugh's although his stock is limited on most varieties.

I'm interested too :)
Looks like they have some nice ones, Brenda. I'm definitely in.
What a great idea Brenda!!!!
Count me in!!!
I'm trying to hammer out details with a grower now. None of the above would give a discount or it was very low. I'm working right now with Lobaugh's Dahlias. I'm hoping to put in the coop application this weekend if I get a couple more questions answered from Wayne the owner.

I like Lobaughs prices better anyway :-)
Thanks for putting this together!

I wish you guys all lived closer, we are quitting our dahlia tuber business. I think there will be lots that go to waste. Can I ask what are you paying for a tuber? If any of you live within reasonable distance of me, I would surely say you can dig up what you might like. I have lots of pictures in the computer of various varieties. Let me give it some thought and maybe I can work out something. It would have to be kind of a surprise package thingy and recovering postage I would need to do. I really have some beauties too.
Lenjo - you've got mail.
Hmmm...I'm contemplating the distance between here and Oregon. LOL Are they still in the ground?
Lenjo, it is wonderful for you to try to find a way to share your dahlias. Driving from NC won't quite work. If you can share them for postage, or find some way to turn this kind offer into a a coop that works with Dave, I am in. I missed the recent coop, but would love to get some!
Peter
Yes, Joan they are in the ground. Our winter has been exceeding mild. Peter, I will be in touch. Joann
OH LENJO- I'd love a package - I ordered 14 from the co=op, but I have a love affair with dahlias!! Let me know how I can help you out!!!!
Joann, you've got mail. :-)
You've got mail !!~~
Well heck I'll take, oh say 20 tubers.......what would that cost me? I'm trying to weigh postage and tuber cost against gas prices.
