Well, maybe not 'white' but certainly gorgeous! Are those on your wrapped porch?

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

They were still out in the cold, unwrapped part of the porch, yesterday when I took these pictures, I brought them into the house last night because the low was forcasted to be 36 and it was. I have more in bloom just haven't taken the time to take pictures yet.

Judy, you are incredible! Those are gorgeous! I shared your "home" photos with JRush and we are both totally in awe!

"Judy, you are incredible!"

Long about now I'm thinking I'm incredibly stupid .... trying to stuff all these plants under wraps. Poor Bob has had so much to do that we are down to the last minute on finishing the porch wrap. (see tropicals forum for more pictures)

Here is a very good article on growing Christmas cactus. It has needs similiar to poinsettias. http://www.fernlea.com/xmas/cactinfo.htm.

Link didn't work for me.

Sorry - I rechecked and can't see any error...this will at least take you to the home page where you can click the word cactus next to the poinsettia picture. That takes you to a Christmas plants page where you can choose Christmas cactus care in the box.

Tthanks Darius ,

Have a great Thanksgiving.

Link didn't work for me either, but my words of advice are "abuse them, they love it"!!! They will bloom their little heads off trying to get your attention!!

Sincerely my outside environment must just suit their fancy because they thrive here. I water all my plants when I notice one of them is slightly wilted .. otherwise I would forget. I throw fertilizer pellets on all of them about once a month, repot only when it is absolutely necessary, hold up a dead one every once in a while and tell them, see this could be you!!.

(Although I don't have a sense of humor, this is my attempt to make you laugh. This is a Happy Day!!)

Judy, you're hysterical! And I'm so glad you are a negligent Mommy - at least all these wonderfull babies you've sent me won't be expecting any special treatment! ("Cause they ain't'a getting it!) BTW - The Angel's are doing great! And the light green ones are good, too. My only concerns are the little redish ones, but I'm optimistic they will rally!

Thanks again!

I was going to write offlist about this, but it seems to be a general question. Did you get a message "page cannot be found"? Partway down the page there is a place to click for the homepage. This will nearly always follow through on any link that cannot take you direct. This is a good article, and I wish I could send it through opened, but I won't mention it further..

It is good information. Here's my try at posting the link, let's see if it works.

Judy,

Your Christmas cactus is beautiful!

White and yellow christmas cacti can develop a pinkish cast to them if they are kept in temps under 50 degrees while they are forming buds. I have had my GOLD CHARM do this, and I actually think I like it better with a pinkish cast. :-)

What gorgeous plants Judy. . .I have one small one that a friend gave me a 'joint' of about 6 years ago and it has very gradually gotten thicker (I tried my best to kill it several times) . . .didn't notice any buds on it today when I was winterizing my patio, but then it just started getting cold here. I'll just look at your pics when I want to see beautiful blooms. . .that white? one is just gorgeous!! You've sure got the knack when it comes to Christmas cactus. . . ;-D Janet

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

She's got the knack for far more than that! I have a severe case of hero worship, here!

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Sequee, I like to have killed myself bringing in all those pots of plants before they froze tonight... just to give you an idea, I counted 10 pots, 8 were 14 inches & 2 were 36 inches in diameter of Boston Ferns and 8 hanging baskets 12 inch diameter of other ferns.. this isn't even the tip of the iceberg. I have decided I'm insane!!!

I don't know how many hanging baskets of spider plants I have but maybe this will give you an idea, I just threw them into a vat, all together.

Lol lol lol

You are totally incredible (or totally crazy!). Compared to you I have nothing, and it's a full time job! I had company today and they couldn't believe how much greenery I have. What a joke! You are the Master!!! Every time I look at your photos I see what can be... I can only hope that one day I will develop your talent for putting it all together! Everything you have seems so harmonious... how do you do it? I feel like I have 8 thumbs and 2 fingers!

BTW - I am so excited! Being the world's worst rooter, I am happy to report that all of your Jew-babies are doing great! I did the tour today and we have roots galore! When the contractors finish the window shelving upstairs this weekend, it will become the Judy room!

Wonderful about the Wandering Jews having rooted. I love them, so colorful and they take such little care.

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Well, it's not blooming, but I *had* to show this to someone (who cared, lol!)

It's a 10" basket...got it for 3 bucks!
