Tropical Hibiscus Coop Anyone Interested?

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

I am thinking about doing a tropical hibiscus coop starting in Feb and running through the end of March probably.

We would be ordering from Exotic Hibiscus http://www.exotichibiscus.com/ and (I believe) all most everything on his site would be available to us as liners. (We have not made all of the final decisions yet)

He is offering to do the shipping from there, which of course not only saves us money, but it means he will ship by zones at the proper times.

He will guarantee them which I think is very generous of him!

The cost per liner will be $3.00 and the shipping will be actual shipping charges with no other fees attached.

I just need to know if there is enough interest to pursue this any farther????

Please just post here if you think this is worthwhile, or if you are interested!

Hi all
Shelly this is not the same as the one dstarz is considering, and I think probably if she is going to do one that I will reconsider my plans.

I looked at the link and it appears that she is hoping to do one right away, which will not work for me, but may work for a lot of you that are in warmer climates.

The prices on the one I was thinking about doing are not as good as hers, and I do think that is a consideration for all of us. There is an unlimited guarantee on these compared to a 30 day on the other. I don't know how important that is to anyone, but please do check out the link that shelly provided that may be a better deal for all of us, which is fine with me.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I really hope you will do this one for spring since I can't hold another plant over this winter. I'm plum full here right now and until my greenhouse is opened in March, it just wouldn't work to order now. I like the guarantee that he puts on his plants and again....I have to say that I like them being shipped directly to me. Less stress on the plants that way. I hope this will work out. I know that living in the north can sometimes cause problems, but we can't help it. LOL!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I would love to be in also. But I rarely look at the Coop forum!! I hope I do not miss it!!

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Alice, I think you lost your mind after the coop you just did . (Which was great by the way, you did a wonderful job) Count me in too.

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

This one would be lolts easier, since I don't have to do the shipping, I just get to be the middleman!!!!

Curt says that he may be able to offer us some of the unreleased new items that he has!!! (I am sure it would be in limited numbers) but how exciting to have some that have not been seen before.

He sent me one called electric blue, and its killing me because of course I don't have a clue what it looks like.

He also told me that before the coop he is hoping to have his web site redone to show some of the ones that haven't been released yet.

I like the idea of getting something that will probably be a high dollar item when its released.

And again the unlimited guarantee is important to me also.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Alice, I might just as well get in on this one also.

Need my head examined!

Oak Grove, MN(Zone 4a)

I want in too! Hibiscus is my favorite!

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

Count me in on this one..

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

Do we need a certain number before we can do the co-op? This is sounding better all the time. The Spring is best for me too.
