LONGEST STANDING TEXAS MEMBER OF DG

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

That would be Dave of course, but he wasn't in Texas then............they were still in Tennessee. I have been a member since June 18, 2001. Just wondering, but I think it would be fun to see.

Well I'm a newby to Texas and Daves, got to Texas on a permanant basis last March (2004) and joined Daves in May I think, might have been June!! Memory going already.
Just checked, I became a full Subscriber in June but had signed on before that in April.

Okus, you registered on May 16th of 2004. :) Nice to meet you! You can roll your cursor over a member's name to find out when they signed up.

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

How cool! Another new thing I learned today. Thanks Badseed. I have okus beat in oposite directions. I've been in Texas longer (since November 1996) but didn't subscribe to Dave's until....ooops....I haven't posted on this thread yet so I can't rollover my name....but it was quite recently....a month or so ago. I did register a while before that but had only used the PDB prior to subscribing..

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

I became a member and subscribed on March 8th of this year. :)

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

Wow....I just checked and I didn't subscribe until Oct 26th. Sure does seem like longer than that. How could I have alredy managed to get into so much trouble in such a short period of time LOL

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Pville, my cursor says you arrived home on July 6,2004. You must have checked DG out for a few months first. Not me, I saw it, I liked it, I bought it.

Paris, TX(Zone 8a)

I was born and have lived in TX all my life, but I didn't begin gardening until May. It wasn't long after that when I was looking online for info to start a garden and I happened to find DG....and here I am today.

Edited to say that it was April, not May. I started working with houseplants in April, but it was May when I started my first Garden.

well acutally sugar I didn't really.....the PDB came up a couple of times on google searches but that was really the only thing I used until sweezel turned me on to it. From that point it might have taken me 24 hours to get subscribed :-)

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

Dec. 23, 2002....mmmm..almost time for me to renew mine again for next year....

(Zone 8b)

thanks for the tip Badseed.
Did everyone else subscribe straight away?
I know I used Google and everytime I came up with something sensible it was DG, then I was doing a lot of checking up on plants and non subscribers can only do 10 a day, so I decided to subscribe. Thats why there are two dates for me anyway.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

I subscibed the day I found it, I think Jun 23rd, this year (someone roll your cursor over me). But I have been in Texas since Sept 1982. Does that count?

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, I did not subscribe as soon as I found Dave's, but as soon as I became a member. I used the Plant's Database every once in a while for about 6 months, but never used anything else. One day I wanted to post a picture so I was going to become a member. When signing up for membership, I knew I was also tired of only getting to search the PDB 10 times in a day so I decided to go ahead and become a subscriber at the same time. I figured that if I trusted the site enough to give my e-mail addy for membership then I trusted Dave enough to give him $15 for the year to check out the subscription. I am so glad I did!!

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

June 13, 2004. And love it.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

I joined Dec. 29, 2001. (I hadn't realized how long ago it was until I looked it up.)

I can not say enough good things about this place. Although I have not met many from here, I feel like I know SO many members and your families just from being a part of your online life. Its a great group of folks here. Wish I could meet y'all....

I found DG last month and within a couple of days I had my subscription. This is the greatest sight. I LOVE IT. All of you guys here are such a great help. I was born in Texas and lived here all my life. I live in East Texas and have 26 acres and lots of room to plant flowers. Would like to get something from every state and have my on little US on my land. My husband want let me dig up all the grass around the house! I think it would be beautiful it have one BIG flower bed instead of the 20+ that I have. Maybe next year. I've got a digital camera and will take pic and post later.

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

Jerri I saw texas has snow already-its that normal? its cold here but NO snow!!

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

not normal at all Dori....but then again neither is Fritch (ducking LOL) (Tamera Faye)....she lives up in the panhandle so I call her our token Yankee...LOLOL....they usually do get some snow in the winter but this is was particularly early even for them.

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

I guess that makes me a "Transplanted Token Native Texas Yankee"? Sidney

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Not normally this early, but they do get their share. Parts of OK are getting it now too, if it was rainy here now, we might have a dusting, but it wouldn't stick for long..........still it's very damp and cold up here right now.

"eyes"

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

ummmmmmm Sidney....that's an awful long title.....could you type it slower please? LOL

(Zone 8b)

The weather we have today is positively English!! Just what I thought I had escaped from, Cold damp and miserable - my joints are going to be all achy if it keeps up!! :

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

hang in there okus.....yes we get English weather from time to time, differnce is that it is not as often and doesn't last as long. As the saying goes, if you don't like the weather in Texas, wait a few minutes...it will change!

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

and change it does, we got more snow, see the weather forum...

4 inches yesterday, then rain, which melted it mostly

I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Cool rain today. Lo was 45, hi so far 46! No thunder!! No sun. No change for way too long!!! :-(

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Dreary and depressing, huh, John? How I do dream along with my cat for a ray of sunshine!!

"eyes"

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

Quit yer dang doodling up there woman! It might be contagious and spread south!

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Hey, eyes! Too wet to plow, too.

(Zone 8b)

Too wet cold and miserable to do anything! What I need is a roaring log fire and a glass of something to "warm the cockles o' m'heart" as they say. I've waited all day P'ville and it hasn't changed a bit!!
