I would think that larkspur for spike contrast would work unless too shady. I would suggest some of the mallows, but they might take over. Donna

Is this area heavily shaded? Damp?

Sequee, it's kind of both..Show you a picture of where I mean.

Oh, my! What a lovely piece of property! You are very lucky indeed! I have alot of Black-eyed Susan abd Sunflower seeds that would probably do nicely. Also have some White Proso Millet that would be a nice contrast if you are interested. I also have a few Cephalaphora seeds youmight want to try. Everything I've listed is on PDB if you'd like to check it out.

Oh Ingrid, that's really lovely! When you sow the seed, try making exagerated "S" or zig-zag lines of single types of seed. Then switch to another type of seed and do the same, sometimes overlapping, sometimes not. This will give you waving drifts of color instead of just all the flowers mixed together. As they re-seed from year to year the shapes soften. I think you would like the look!

You got it....the cobbler's children have no shoes...etc....! My place is actually a "testing ground". I plants lots of new single things I want to try to make sure they do well in our area....only then do I use them on other people's landscape plans. So I have that....um...."messy" look. This next year though, I have promised myself to actually do a PLAN for the front yard, so at least that looks better. The back can continue to be my test area! LOL

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Aha! That's why you have such cool stuff to trade!

Ingrid - Dollar World has a seed sale going on - 4 packs for $1...they have poppies, shasta daisies, and bachelor buttons, among many other things. Most of the seeds are 2004, but some are 2003. Do you still need these? LMK and I can pick up some up for you before I mail your package out! I've been a little tied up with the Sectret Santa Game, but I'll do more trade packing this weekend - HONEST!
