Gibberellic acid(GA-3)

Redlands, CA(Zone 10a)

I've recently been playing with GA-3 to stimulate seed germination in a number of cycads. I have a Cerotozamia miquelliana seed that I want to start however after using GA-3 on a Macrozamia communis I've noticed it has a rather distorted look to it. My inquiry is, does GA-3 effect the cellular structure of the plant by elongation and if I use a fern-produced GA- related compound( antheridiogens) will this effect the formation of the plant? I also would like to know if the Deno method (which I am using )or the Bertrand method is more suitable. Thanks for any feedback which you might share- Garth "bagpypr" McG.

check out the epa fact sheet

It does seem to indicate that it's growth stimulating properties can have an effect on the shape of the result. and specifically says it does cause elongation.
