We're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz.....

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I guess you know what we did for Halloween this year. LOL
The movie has always meant fall, Halloween and the beginning of the holiday season for me.

What a GREAT Halloween picture!!!!! You are the only person I know that can outfit the complete cast LOL

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL That is kind of what I was thinking too. :)
I have made all the costumes for all of my kids every year except last year. We always receive great comments on their outfits. Last year the kids just bought costumes or pieces and did their own thing and my neighbors were actually disappointed! And they TOLD me so too. LOL I figured we better not let them down again.

Milo, IA(Zone 5a)

Great Job. What a memory that photo will be. All the girls look the parts.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

The funniest thing happened when we went outside to go trick or treating. The little boy (2.5) next door was also dressed as a lion. Since Maddie was in the stroller, little Jack got to walk with the girls and complete our troupe. LOL

Knoxville, TN(Zone 7a)

How CUTE!!!! You are so blessed with your children.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Awww look so cute all girls' outfit. I love to watch "Wizard of the Oz"
Wow the baby grow so fast already and all your girls are beautiful just like you.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Hah...that's the greatest pic I've seen in a long time! Those kids are SO happy!!!

Great job on the theme and the costumes. Suitable for framing!!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Well, I guess I had put my message into this post too. I read the other post in GD first, then came here and found this one.

Here is my message on the other post....look at the questions I asked, and you had already mentioned them on this thread.

"Oh my gosh Chele, what a perfect little Oz family you have. Did you make the costumes? You must have had a lot of comments about the girls and their beautiful costumes.

BTW, where's toto? hehe

We're blessed to have today, but not guaranteed a tomorrow.

Crossville, TN

Michele...they are so adorable...you should have dressed like Auntie Em, and Craig as The Wizard!!

Now...I sure wish they had come to my house. Jo

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Chele the are so cute. You did a great job. You should have took the puppy in a basket as toto. lol

Michele, that is a wonderful picture. I bet they had a great time.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks a bunch! The kids had a great time. My neighbors are happy with me again too. LOL The kids weighed their candy a little bit ago after having eaten it since last night and still have 52 pounds. That is just gross. We didn't even take a bag for Maddie either. LOL

Thanks for the dog comment Peggy. I didn't have the heart to spray paint her with hair paint or they would have taken her. They said she was the wrong color and wanted me to paint her. ;)

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

They look wonderful. You better sell half the candy to pay for the dentist! Lol!

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

How cute. Your own acting troupe.....

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

Wonderful photo-thanks so much for sharing. Make great addtions to their memory books.

Plymouth, MI(Zone 6a)

What a beautiful family, Hope they all got lots of treats!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Finally found it, Chele! What a great idea. I can't believe you made all the costumes. The kids look just great. The tin man is too good!! I was looking for that cute pup as Toto too, Peggy!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks for all the compliments. We really had a good time. I didn't start on the costumes until Monday so I was thrilled to death to have them all done by Sunday. I need one of those Grandmas to help with the kids! Anyone want to give one up for adoption??? Or send me a maid so I can play with the kids. :)

LOL Kell. I lucked out when the only color hair paint we had was white.

Looks better than the original cast. Wow, Michele, you are soooooooo talented.

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

Michele, you have the most beautiful children.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Awww, thanks Ruth. :)

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Awwwwwww... I got goosebump when I saw that pic.. They all are so adorable.. Just perfecto! :o)

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

I watched a documentary the other night about a family that had 14 children (10 boys, 4 girls, 2 sets of twins) and were expecting their 15th! It just left me breathless and in awe! Now, since you already have 6 beautiful girls, perhaps you could fill in with boys and have your own documentary? *grin* You are so talented I'm sure you would qualify.

Oh, my gosh...Chele, these costumes are terrific! Is that dryer vent used for the tin arms? That's so totally cool! Everybody looks awesome!

crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

OK Chelle, the Poor little "Tinman" looks a wee bit uncomfortable...... But what a darlin' group that is.

Tina

Cincinnati (Anderson, OH(Zone 6a)

Badseed--those trick or treaters are the cutest by far! I think you should enter the photo in a Kodak contest! The costumes are out of this world! t.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I want to thank everyone very much for the compliments. I truly enjoy sewing and especially love sewing for the girls. I have a slew of unopened patterns sitting here and hope to find the time to make the girls clothes. It is not about saving money so much as quality fabrics and thread. I cannot believe how quickly clothes wear out. Maybe I am unrealistic since our clothes sure get their moneys worth! LOL

I am glad you are all enjoying the costumes. We struggle each year to come up with something unique. So, you guys have any ideas for next year?? Maybe if I start now I won't have to do them all in under a week. ;)

Cleveland, OH(Zone 5b)

How about a basketball team with it's coach or a cheerleader? LOL!
Great looking kids! Great job on the costumes!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

They could be a girl band, with instruments and funky hair (you love doing hair color, so that's right up your line).

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

what a lot of nice memories you made with this .and all can enjoy from now on.

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

I just had to tell you..... Everytime I glance at this Forum and see the title to this thread, I smile, remembering a young cousin running into the house to tell me he saw a Wizard. My mind conjoured up visions of a long flowing robe and pointed hat. I was so relieved when he showed me his great find.... a lizard.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL Judy! That is a good one!

Austell, GA(Zone 7a)

Michele, I just love this pic. I have viewed it several times. I love them all but the tin man is just about the cutest thing I have seen.

My son is 27 but when he was in 1st grade dressed him up as the scarecrow and he won a prize at school. Yep, handmade costumes are the best!!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I thought of you when I passed the dryer vents at Lowe's the other day, Chele. :)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL
