After work last night I went down to my rented plots where I am growing out lots of my seedlings. I expected beautiful flowers to greet me but instead I found a pitiful display of human behavior.
Someone made me very sad!
so sorry about that Kell. apparently someone in the area knew about brugs. that is too sad :(!
I know you must be sick. So much work. Who would be so mean? Did they take some of the tops or just break them off and throw them down?

Oh man, what a shame..I am so sorry, Kell, I know how heartbroken you must be right now to see all that hard work laying on the ground.....this is such senseless destruction......
That's terrible. Do you think it was mindless vandalism?
Such a loss...

It makes me sad when I look at the pictures. You have invested so much love and work in it and then this....!
I wish, that you will find out who did it.
Really feel sorry for you Kell. Some people just do not have any respect for others.
Oh I'm so sorry, Kell!!!
This is just meanness!! I hope you find out who was responsable for this and maybe they will think twice before doing something like this again! This is just like tearing up someone's yard or vandalizing their home, or vandalizing their car. It looks like someone's warped way of having fun!!
I wish we could all come to your side and help find the offender.
Bonnie
I'm very sorry to see that kell. This makes me very angry to see. I hope you can find out who did this so they can be punished. It is terrible when someone has nothing better to do that destroy someone elses hard work!! arrrggg.

Oh geez! Kell I am so so sad, and sorry. I just dont understand why! My word they could have taken cuttings without doing the damage. Im sorry.
How awful!!! If it makes me sick looking at all the destruction I can only imagine how you feel.....

Aw Kell, that is so bad. Who would do this? Had to be someone with a "strong arm"! Seems we can't keep anything to make us happy anymore.
Nasty!
OH Kell my heart goes out to you. no words can say how sorry i am for the senslessness in this. all your hard work.
i hope you go to the poilce and they find who did this.
Kell, you already know how I feel about this. Wish I could take things back about 24 hours for you.
Kell,
So very sorry. I just don't have the words to say HOW sorry I am that humans can be so evil. It would have been nicer to take the cuttings. But to distroy them is just evil.
Daisy
I am so sorry, Kell. What a heartless and selfish act. Words can't express what you must be feeling...
Kell, I am so sorry . It is hard to understand how there could be people in this world that would do something like that just out of meanness. But unfornately there are. If you need help with cleanup, or if I can help you any other way. I am close by, just let me know.
Patricia
Oh kell that is terrible, that someone could do such a thing, it has to be someone that has no idea how folks feel about plants, I wish I could help you put them all back together
Kell,
This is so sad.....Wish I could help, I know that you worked so hard. : (
Kell-
That is horrible! I am so sorry. It is depressing when people do terrible stuff to
your plants.
Kell,
I'm so sorry ....... : - (
Hi Kelley,
I just read your post I am so sad for you, that you had looked much forward to finding beauties in bloom and then came just to find your Brugmansia in such state.
All that work, all that expectation and ... then this ...
Have you found out, which kind of persons destroyed your work? ... not that anyone should be hanged for it, but if you are going to build up and start all over at this place it might help you feeling better and not to worry, if or when this could happen again as you can not be there all of the time.
Feeling safe, that you at any time in thew future can leave the area and return to see everything is in order might be, what matters most in the end.
Right now I am sad for you and angry, that those who did this ignored or refused to see all the love you put in your plants.
Love Tonny
How despicable! Sorry kell, we all hoped to see your field of dreams.
I think I would start watching ebay, and local brug sales, like a farmer's market around town. It does look like someone knew what they were doing.
Kell
I am so sorry to see this. Is it possible that some local wildlife might have been browsing ??? Deer perhaps??? Anything is possible I guess but, they are out moving around here where I live and I noticed the that they were eating or taken high off the plants and the leave's of some were still on them. Also another thing that made me think that was how the thick stem was just snapped that way. The Deer could have done this...At any rate, I know you worked so hard on all of these and it's ashamed to see such a terrible thing like this happen to anyone.
:(...
What an unbelievable terrible to thing to have happen. How can people be so thoughtless and cruel. If they didn't take the tops, it was probably teenagers out for a night of destruction, with no thought to the devastation they were causing.
Oh my goodess Kell thats terrible .Hope the police finds the person that did this.
(((Kell))) Maybe somebody will spit on their candy. Sorry your plants got wrecked. Some people are just plain mean.
All I can add is that I'm sooo sorry kell ((HUG)) I learned a long time ago.....from working in the parks system..peole love to destroy what others create...........gives them a feeling of power over others. Mindless people do these things. :-(
Nothing I can say would make you feel any better, but I am sooooo Sorry.
Oh my gosh, I am so sorry also. What a shock it must of been. I Hope that they get caught.
(((Kell)))
I think these lyrics by Carole King sum up how we all feel about you:
When you're down and troubled
And you need some loving care
And nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend
If the sky above you
Grows dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind begins to blow
Keep your head together
And call my name out loud
Soon you'll hear me knocking at your door
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
Ain't it good to know that you've got a friend
When people can be so cold
They'll hurt you, and desert you
And take your soul if you let them
Oh, but don't you let them
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend
Kell, I am so sorry! It makes me just sick to look at those pictures so I can only imagine how bad you must feel. I just don't understand how people can be so senseless and evil. Maybe the brugs were able to get some revenge, if the [hooligans] who did this were not wearning gloves they may have absorbed enough brug alkaloids to make them really sick!
Kell, I had a similar incident about 15 years ago, it might have been worse, but the damage was not as great as yours was time and money wise. I landscape my office and each season, including appropriate plants. My spring planting included beautiful tulips, other bulbs and my own, family, blue, Dutch Iris, which I've been growing since I was a child, as well as my Louisiana blue iris, but it bloomed later. That particular spring, the tulips and blue iris bloomed at the same time. They welcomed us into spring one day, and the next day, when I arrived, they were gone - not gone like yours, slashed to the ground, but 'removed' and the ground was not damaged or disturbed, the mulch was neatly arranged and the holes filled. The thief wasn't an angry person, that stomped, slashed and destroyed the plants, for some reason, that only the thief knew, but, our thief, was a REAL thief, one that wanted something, not expensive, that we had, that he/she took - I would have preferred a stolen car, that makes at least some sense (huh??). A person that destroys, steals plants is in a different, sick category. I would have and I know you would have, given away the plants, why in the world would someone do that sort of cruel deed??!!
kell...I am really sadden by your loss. Like Patricia...I don't live too far from you and would be happy to come and help you if you would like me to. E-mail and let me know please. Margie
It was very windy and rainy last night, but I do not think it could have been the weather that caused the damage, do you?
That is just terrible, who would do such a thing!! I am so sorry for you Kell, all the hard work that goes into growing brugs and money. So hard to believe this happened around a church, God knows who did it and he will not forget. Sometime in there life they will experience this aweful feeling when someone hurts them as they hurt you. Cathy
