Terre--HAHAHAHA some people are so incredibly CHEAP!! The only problem with that twisted logic is that you can't 'return to sender' if you've opened the envelope.
I've only had one really bad incident with someone sending me an SASE, and it was because she shorted herself on postage. I can't afford to be picking up other people's postage because they don't care to read through the instructions and just assume that since I'm being nice enough to give away seeds, that I'll give away postage too. I told her that she'd not put in the stamps and needed to send me postage (better than one 49 cent envelope) and she told me to forget it and keep what I had because it was going to cost her another 37 on top of what she owed me. She was miffed, and I was miffed over her attitude, but ya know, it could have all been avoided it she'd bothered to read the instructions. If she had told me "Oops, I'm sorry, I forgot!", I probably would've ended up paying for it because it was an oversight, and let it go. I felt bad it ended up that way, but I wasn't moving from my ground on priniciple after I got a taste of her attitude.
Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying that every person who doesn't do like they should just tosses the idea of following instructions aside. I do realize that there are some who make honest mistakes (Lord knows I have), but when people don't even bother to come close to what you are asking of them (which for me normally isn't much), it makes me wonder about the person I'm sending them to. I'd much rather send to someone who is appreciating the gesture than to someone who's just standing there with their hand out because they can.
Need some advice on what to do?
Your last statement is exactly how I feel!!!!!
QueenB...Sounds like the same person I had to send an empty envelope back to...LMAO!!! ha ha ha...But really Sooo not funny. But you have to laugh here sometimes..
BTW Kim--apparently I was a good girl, because I got your seeds yesterday!
:-P
LOL
Hi Anette,
Sometimes it is hard for people to pull information out of Narrative writings. Why don't you describe what you want in your paragragh(Narrative) and then break it down. Like...(for example only)
1. Seed requester must send bubble envelope with return address.
2. " " send .60 cent stamp or ?. (Be specific on amount)
3. " " send your own seed envelopes with the seeds your requesting written on them.
4.It is important you follow my steps 1-3 before sending,if you do not understand e-mail me (before) sending.< And bold this part
People many times do better with steps.
Hope this helps. Just an idea.
LOL LOL QueenB...were tthey OK?
Hmmmm - ya know, I have seen threads like this come up more than once. I even started one once - I was a frustrated person that was just "sharing" at the time, not trading, and 5 out of 10 people did not follow the directions. Those that forgot something, I emailed and told them what they forgot. All but one person sent what was needed at that point, and got their seeds. It just took much longer, and I like to see my trades or sharing go quickly - easier for me to track.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned above, this is an ongoing problem and probably will continue to be. I have chosen to continue to share or trade, as it is one of my hobbies (and I need one!) and I do enjoying making someone smile - it is always a treat to get something fun in the mail, especially these kinds of treats.
I think the choice to continue is our own, the one sharing.
Kim, yes, they were fine...met my expectations exactly! :-))
