Brug cuttings

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Sherrylike, IMHO
I would not publicly post my Addie here...............

BUT

You could enter it into the DG address exchange , that only subscribers have access to.
http://davesgarden.com/address_exchange/

It's found at the top of the DG Home Page in the Extras Tab

Renton, WA(Zone 7a)

Hi, i have never tried a brug, but am willing to be converted if you have any left
Thankyou Carol

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

I'd love a cutting or a few seeds from your white brug or any other. I will be happy to send postage if you have any thing left by now! Doris

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I believe Non subscribers can only read the first post in a thread. If you put your address in the exchange, the same people that can read it here (not in the first post) could read it there. Isn't that right? Myself, I believe the safest way to do business is by the new DG email and when Donna is ready, she will probably explain how she wants to do it. I do have to say that I found this week, via Drummat, that a bubble envelope, the size that would hold a full sheet of paper, works wonderful for a couple of cuttings that are about 7 inches long. Less packing to do and I really appreciated him sending it. He sent his address label and a Priority stamp. All I had to do was put the label and stamp on, stick the cuttings in, and seal. Ready to go.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Yup , Our new DG eMail is way cool !

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Gosh, Brugie, that's good news, and almost impossible to believe, I have LOTS of those bubble envelopes, *wink*!!!!! Up and down, 7 inches, or catty corner, which might mean a longer cutting.

Scoot, thanks, I really appreciate the info!!! I added my addy to the 'forum' you suggested - I guess I overlooked the forum...

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

That is a good idea Shirley especially since it is getting cooler for some people. It will help hold heat better and not have to fill a box with news paper but I don't think I would do it in the heat of summer though.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

O.K. if everyone wants to go ahead and send me a priority stamp for 2 lbs if you just want Monster Brug and 3 lbs if you want Golfito and/or Frosty Pink too and an addy label. Priority Mail stamp my zip 39564 to yours. Then I can just do some as I feel like it and start getting them out since I won't have to drive into town to the P.O. My addy is in the exchange. You must sign up for it to be able to see the other members addy. Look in the top bar of the page for Extras for the link to it. Or e-mail me for my addy if you are not signed up for it. Thanks Shriley this way really takes a load off.

Willamette Valley-OS, OR(Zone 8a)

Donna-
Can I get in on this Donna for All 3?

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

imzadi, that's exactly what I want too!!! My hubby was grilling way back on our property and he smelled something, through the grill smoke, that was heavenly, says he, and followed his nose quite a distance, in the dark and ended up at the only bloom in the yard and it was my unknown pink - I just cannot wait for a big one that has LOTS of fragrant blossoms!!!

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

I went to the post office this morning to get my Priority Mail stamp for Donna - man they sure gave me a hard time! I asked them for a stamp to mail 3lb from Donna's zip code - he replied "Can't give you that - the box will have to be weighed". I told him, "look, just figure out what the postage would be for a box weighing up to 3lbs give me the postage". He told me the cost and then handed me about 5 regular stamps adding up to the $7.13. but he told me the person shipping this would have to have it weighed to be sure it is under 3lb and they would have to bring it to the P.O. - they couldn't leave it in the box. Then I asked him for a few address labels - he handed me ONE and ushered up the next customer. geesh,,,anybody else get grief or is it just my luck?

Donna - you're a peach for doing this - sure hope you can just hand the pkgs to the mailman and not have to drive them down to the P.O.

Diane,

u could have save urself some grief and gasoline. here is the site to figure out stamps u will need. it is the Domestic stamp calculator http://postcalc.usps.gov/ hth.

edited to add: price of postage will vary from zone to zone, not by weight alone.

what i did this morning is went to the po and asked for two 3.85 stamps. i didnt say priority or anything. the lady asked me why i needed two and told her for a three pound box and she said that should be enough.

if not like i sid in an email to Donna let me know the remaining and i will get it back to her. thats all i can do. I dont know what size or shape the boxes are so you have to go with your instincts on how much and hopefully its enough.

the post office can be a hassle. i know had major problems with last po and had problems on here due to last po.

Donna YOU ARE THE BEST FOR DOING THIS!!!!!! THanks

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

ma vie...thank you for your link...it helped alot !! Margie

Thank you!!!

Does anyone know where there is a chart showing what postal zone you are in?

I have a question? If Donna has Paypal what would she have to do that she wouldn't have to do by the way of our sending her a postage lable? Just a question. Please don't jump down my throat over this.

The link that MaVie Rose gave is one I have been looking for. Now if we could just find the zone chart, then we could print our own labels. Right? According to that chart, the longest zone would cost $8.55 for 3 pounds. I guess that is from her zone to zone 8, which would be the West coast like mine in Washington state. Is that right?.

Jeanette

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Jeanette,
If I understand your question correctly, you just need to put your zip code in the to box and hers in the from box.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

u're welcome Margie :).

Jeanette, do not worry about the different zones. it will be more confusing, i believe only the post office knows the difference.

all u have to do is plug in DonnaB's zip code like she gave above From Zip Code , then plug in ur zip code on To Zip Code, then follow the instructions on the USPS site.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Yep some of the postal people can be rude. I have to fight with them to sometimes. What's so hard about 3 lb and a zip code??? Geesh!!! Just do it I tell them. I will fill the boxes up as much as I can for the postage you send. Sorry you all are having a hard time. I don't think any should be over 5.00 dollars as i have sent out hundreds of big boxes full for a little more than 7.00 in the last few years.

Would love all 3 too if you still have the energy when you get this far down the list. Am a newby to brugs but need to get in on the brug obsession. Thanks for your generosity DonnaB.

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

mine went out yesterday for sure. you should have it in a few days. Thanks agian .

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

they told me it would be $4.65 from Donna to me since they do not know the SIZE of the box, but said that would take care of it since I knew the aprox. weight of 3lb.

Commerce, GA(Zone 8a)

Donna, my postage according to the postal calculator came to $6.05. I also am including the label. I am sending it in today's mail. Thanks, Melba

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

Hey Donna,

I don't undestand Monster brug either. I saw yours. This was one very well rooted when I planted it..then is just sat there. Putting on new small leaves then losing them. I just gave it some bone meal to see if it will start producing leaves for me. However, I'm still sending you postage for another cutting to keep as back up and I'll just leave this one in the ground to see what it does.

Thanks a bunch,

Daisy

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

sent mine off a couple days ago, it was also 6.05, for a 3 pound box. she looked atme kind of strange, and said , well I don't know what that's going to cost if you don't have the box. LOL I said , well, just imagine I have a box here that weighed that much, and gave her your zip code and said how much would it cost to ship it, LOL she then told me 6.05, and that's what I bought stamps for.
