Anyone interested in playing Secret Santa?

Leesville, SC(Zone 8a)

Not trying to sound mean, but the "secret" santas may not have seeds on the wish list of the person whose name they drew. I personally have my gift packaged up and ready to go. I like surprises, so whatever I receive will be appreciated.

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh, that's really sweet. There are so many creative ways people can do this - what fun for you!

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

Personally I will be happy with whatever I get. If in fact there are seeds in there I have or can't use I will simply pass them onto someone else down the line.
I'm excited to see what 'surprises' I get. :-)
Thanks again for setting this all up Sequee

Marc

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, RB - That's how I feel. I love surprises! And I love playing detective - can I find the perfect seed for this person by reading the trail they've left behind?

Westmoreland, TN(Zone 7a)

Thats what i have been doing following the trail of posts to see just what mine has been looking for and wishing for.
And i must say i have had so much fun just trying to figure out just what will bring the biggest smile to their face.

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

I played detective too, that was a fun idea Sequee, and discovered that my "victim" hehehe, has completely different taste then me, so I ended up just choosing some of my most special to me seeds to send. I figured I just may open a whole new world to them. The hardest part for me will be the waiting. I have the package made up & am chomping at the bit to send it, but am forcing myself to hold off until December. Wonder if I can make it! :~)
Donna

hello donna im holding on to mine toooo, lets see who can hold out the longest?????????

Renton, WA(Zone 7a)

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

I tried to hunt down some info on mine, but it was a short path. Did get a couple ideas though. I put in some of my favorites and a few good old faithful garden basics (IMHO) :-)
This is SO fun. hehehehehehe

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm glad you guys are having as much fun with this as I am! But you must all sympathize with me - I get the the last number in the pot - so I'm on pins and needles just waiting to see who I get! On top of that, no one has picked my number...so what happens if I'M the last number in the pot??? (At least I'll know what I like - lol!)

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Well worse case scenario, I can swap with you so you don't waste postage sending something to yourself. hehehehe
donna

oh ill suprise you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! talk about self control!
I would be working on reasons to open it. Here are 2 that I can think of off the top of my head, feel free to use them...hehehe
Is there anything perishable in there?
Do they need cold strat?
See? And I am SURE there are more reasons if one put enough thought into it. ;~)

LOL rolling here, yes I am sure there are many more reasons you should open it now LOL that is funny, I just got my "persons" name today, so am scrambling to find some really neat things to stuff in the envie LOL

Golly, wouldn't it be nice if some of you would post what you like here, after doing a little search I am having a hard time figuring out what my "person" may like!!!!

NEW CUYAMA, CA

I want #1

I like climbers, perennials and fragrant flowers; oh annuals are lovely, especially allysiums...I have been looking for lavender allysiums for awhile, Grandma use to have those in her front yard, smelled so pretty.

Greenback, TN

You missed me! But I did send you an e mail, is there still time?

Palmyra, IL(Zone 5b)

How about updating your wants list on your trade pages.I'd like to send my number 45 what they'd want.LOL. Jody

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Tammy - Your "in the hat". See the list of participants in the first post. Just pick a number and you're ready to roll!

Jody - Some of us don't really know what we want until we see it in a trade offer! Honestly, I look around my jungle - I mean, house, and I know I can't possibly want or need a thing...ever again! Then I just happen to glance at a trade thread and there just happens to be something I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT.

Lewiston, CA(Zone 7b)

I have updated my "want list" in our trades list, just in case my Santa has questions!!!! :)

I looked up my "Recipient" & didn't find much as for clues as what to send. Maybe everyone needs to go add a few things to their Lists-"Wanted", you know especially if you are REALLY wanting something. Just a thot! Huggs, Bj

Bj - If you go to your person's threads, you will see alot of things that he/she is interested in. (Actually I was hoping for this person because our tastes are so similar - lol! Guess I'll patiently wait for my person and hope they are easy, too!)

Brooksville, FL(Zone 9a)

ok, I'm a bit late - I'll take #12

sorry!!

Onalee

Santa Clara, CA(Zone 9a)

I will be very happy with anything I get. I have found in RR's that I always pick something I know nothing about and then I look them up and try to grow them. This way I try something I never knew was out there and never though to buy myself, of course, this maybe why have have such a weird selection in my yard.

Menasha, WI(Zone 4b)

Kathy_T.....Variety is the spice of life. Mother Nature wouldn't allow any weird selections!! LOL

Santa Clara, CA(Zone 9a)

Oh, I don't know some of the things the birds bring in are questionable. LOL

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

You guys are a hoot! I love you all! I will update the list in the morning...

(Zone 7a)

Number 3 for me :-D

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

I seem to be having trouble with my fingers today (aka doggone that silly send button!). Onalee, Kim and Tazzy - I THINK I sent you all an e-mail with your recipients, if NOT - PLMK!

Also - everyone join me in congratulating NatureWalker on her new home! The busy little beaver is moving in as we speak! Wishing her the best of everything in her new place. She tells me she's now an official "Bing-a-Ling"!

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Hi , I am alos here, my number is 16 ....

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Gumlla - you have mail.

PS If anyone is REALLY stuck on selecting seeds, drop me a note and I'll help you out!

(Zone 7a)

Noooo..I need to know. I can go play in the seeds if I know who my Secrect Santa is :-D Ummm we are sending garden stuff right? Did I miss the rules?

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Kim - you have mail - really, I'm sure...

Also, check the opening box for the "Rules", such as they are!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I am really confused here. I just got an email saying I needed to "pick" a number? I thought in the original post it said our name would be assigned a number???????????????

Guess I need to know more about how this works - I've never done a seed-trading secret santa before.

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

I took the names of all the people who entered and assigned them a number. Then, when each person picks a number, I give them the name and address of the person who has been assigned to that number. Does that help?

(Zone 7a)

No Mail :-(

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Weird - I just sent it for the third time - if youi don't get it I'm going to scream. Now I understand that I might have fogotten to hit the send button once, but...
