Hi Everybody! I'm brand new to this group - as well as new to gardening. Anyway, I bought a nice, large (about 2 1/2' tall) rhododendron plant a couple of weeks ago to put in the front yard. First, I did not know that these plants had varying sun criteria - full sun, partial sun, full shade (!!) So, what happened was I got 2 smaller ones that need full to partial sun and the one large one that needs full shade. By the time I finally figured out where I wanted to plant it (in the back yard where there is plenty of shade) it had gone from a full healthy looking plant to a rather sickly child with rolled under leaves. I was told I had overwatered it (the nursery had put the container in a plastic bag to protect my car and I had left it on until I could plant it). My question is -- will it survive? Or have I lost it? I have not watered it since I planted it a few days ago, it has rained a little bit yesterday and the mulch around it is still damp. Any suggestions? The nursery does have a 1 year guarantee - should I take it back now?
Thanks for helping a newbie!

If it were my plant, I'd probably prune it back some. It's less for the plant to try to keep nourished. You may want to call the nursery first, though, and make sure it won't affect the warranty. Give it a good drink, too. The rain we've had isn't sufficient to reach the roots.
