Staghorn Fern

I have moved my Dad's Staghorn from Salinas to Sacramento (where I now live). I have it outside hanging on a Western facing fence wall under a canopy formed by my neighbors vine. So far so good, but I need advice as to whether to bring it in this winter, or to leave it in peace. Does anyone in the Sacramento area have a Staghorn that is kept outside?
