Yumiko I hope you take your camera with you as often as you can....it's really interesting seeing the mushrooms in their habitat. Even pictures showing where you've uncovered them would be great to observe.
fall in Western Canada
Yikes it has arrived the yard is white and getting deeper and I don't think it's going away this time.
Gorgeous photos, Susan. The silhouettes in the first one are really striking.
That's poopy Lynn! Seems way to early for the white stuff to be staying, but in retrospect, I can remember as a little girl (and man, is that stretching the ole memory!!) crying because my dad wouldn't take us out for Halloweeen Trick or Treating 'cause it had snowed a big dump and he didn't think it was worth the effort of tramping through it. (That was when I lived over close to were your restaurant is, Lynn) So I guess these freaky early winters do happen. Don't give up hope though, it may smarten up yet.
Even here, although it is 12 degrees this morning, the "powers that be" are forcasting single digits for the next 3 days. Yesterday, I finally dumped all my remaining annuals and brought in the stuff that I am overwintering. I think it's time to start "hunkerin' down".
P.S. Dad did finally relent and took my brother and I despite the not too pleasant conditions :D
Cool shot, Pam. BTW, you get up way too early for a Saturday morning, Girl!!
I know......always seem to wake up at sunrise now.
Ran around town this a.m. and the chill is really in the air.......a nasty system has entered Saskatchewan at Lloydminister and is heading downwards. LYNN you really, really didn't have to pass your good fortune on, I would have been quite content not seeing it for another month or so! :b

That is a cool pic too, Susan.
lol......I like your pic durtcom, it's nice to see the window framing it. Imma hoping we see (and capture) many gorgeous ones this winter.
Poor Guy! I'm thinkin' he should have been long gone by now!
I'm sure he wishes he'd followed the flight itinerary of his buddies a little more carefully.
OK this thread should now officially be winter in western canada LOL except I'm not laughing. I haven't dug my glad corms - can I do that in January if we have an unseasonal thaw. There are feet not inches of snow on my garden now. Remind me again why I live here!
Clean fresh prairie air???
Feet? I just saw a pic of cowboys in the streets, with no snow.
You live there because it is one of the new most vibrant places to live in the country.
The only province not carrying a debt?
How about the fringe festival !
Early spring or fall is fine for me....
It's lovely.......I can hardly wait to see the mountains again! Thank you for posting them Donna. :D
What a beautiful tree.......it almost looks like it's in flower!
Donna, these pics are gorgeous. I wish I could crawl right into them and go for a nice long hike!
can we drive thru Castlegar on our way to the victoria roundup. Isn't my geographical knowledge abyssmal. Not to mention my spelling.
Gee Lynn, it would be fun, but Castlegar is situated on Highway 3 (Crowsnest Pass Highway) which comes from the Pincher Creek area. I would think you would be taking the Yellowhead, wouldn't you, which is north of here. Mind you, I might be able to find my way up to Kamloops and meet you there maybe.
What a sweetie Lynn! :D
LOL....it may not be in Canada but it represents fall and the leaves and colors are certainly right!
p.s. Lynn did you read what I posted in the RoundUp forum?

Now if that isn't a "covergirl" picture, I don't know what is. She is adorable! Great photo, Lynn.
Oh my! Lovely pictures. That creek looks chilly. brrrr.
Lynn, your gn is beautiful! What a lovely photo
Lovely garden Lynn, and what colour--What a child!! What fall leaves are for.
Smart bringing that toad lily in.....I have one out in my yard and the season is just not long enough for it to bloom (it is hardy tho'). I'm glad to see what it's supposed to look like! ;)
