Does anyone know what this is?
Thank you!
maroonish spots on ivory halo dogwood leaves???
It could be dogwood anthracnose, a fungal infection that weakens and often kills dogwood trees. Some varieties of tree are more succeptible to the disease than others. It is typically seen around this time of year where weather has been particularly wet. I have a white oak that was treated successfully for the condition last year, but anthracnose is not as dangerous to oak as it is to dogwood. Here in Massachusetts we have lost lots of native dogwood to the fungus. Check with an arborist or your local extension service. GOOD LUCK!
Cynthia
