Why doesn't someone invent a small lawn mower for small yards. I wish that someone would come up with a little mower that is about a foot wide that would fit between my plants so that I don't have to get down with my sissors and cut the grass that my mower can't reach. I don't want to use a weed eater as I may cut the stems of my plants. I have a little push mower but ever that is too wide. Do we have any inventers or mechanics out there that can create such a mower?
Well, thanks for letting me vent. If you have any good suggestions I'm ready to hear them.

small lawnmower?
We tried doing that with a small reel mower in our old garden but the problem with them is that if your yard is too small, you can't get the leverage going quickly enough to start the reel turning.
I never heard of a reel mower. Do they still make them? Sounds like something I might be interested in.
We get stuff from here-

Check out the manual chainsaw too : )
Jan, I've never used one but have you seen these?

Is that for real? LOL its like having a member of the Jetson's family mow your lawn!!
If I was trying to solve that problem my first inclination may be to build a little light weight buggy that you could fasten a weed eater to. I envison two fixed wheels side to side and something fore and aft to keep it leval with the ground probably castor type wheels or simple drag skids or a combination of. Just a thought. Ernie

I used to have a pair of scissors on wheels that really worked slick but if you have very much to do I imagine your hands would get pretty tired. There was a lever on the handle that you squeezed as you pushed it along. I imagine it weighed maybe a pound and a half.
Home Depot and Lowes sells front end mounted weed eaters that roll around and they are about 8 inches wide. Sounds like what you are looking for. :)
