Last fall I planted some bitternut hickory seeds, but they don't seem to want to come up.I gave them all the water test before planting, so I know they were viable seeds.I don't think the squirrels got them.I have heard that hickorys send down a long tap root before sprouting above ground,could this be what is happening?
