Has anyone got theirs in the mail?A lady with a paintbrush is on front cover. Has a nice bunch of gardening books etc. to choose from for good prices but the problem is it dosen't specify approx. postage or shipping. Getting a nice garden book at a good price sounds good but I don't want to get an $100.00 postage and shipping bill. Do they ship all the books seperately is this how they make there money? It says you can choose 6-7books at once. Does anyone know about this company.
Thanks for any replys!
A deal or a gimmic?-Homestyle books-Camphill Pa
Well, I don't know but I added them to the Watchdog here: http://davesgarden.com/gwd/c/3568/ so if anyone does have experience they can share it for the benefit of others.
One source says it's a subsidiary of Meredith Corporation (publishers of Better Homes & Gardens) while another says it's a subsidiary of Book-of-the-Month Club. Same address for both, so my guess is that Meredith is also-known-as Book-of-the-Month Club.
If you are good at keeping up with the "do not want this month's selection" postcards, these deals can be reasonably value-priced. I never could, which meant I was always getting stuck with music or books I wouldn't have bought otherwise.
Personally I do better using eBay and the used book/music websites, buying exactly what I want at a sharply-reduced price vs. buying retail.
