Where have all the 'flowers' gone?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

It's so quiet in here:( I just found this wonderful home last month, and I'm met some of the nicest people here. I don't have a clue what happened, but I know it can be overcome. I also know that people are busy in their gardens. I just don't want to lose a good thing.
So if you're usually posting, and now just lurking, don't let one bad apple spoil this whole thing. It's too good!!!

just thoughts from a newbie

Hi, tiG! I know what you mean about it being quiet here. I for one have been "missing in action" for a while as I slipped away to visit my parents. (It seemed rude to take over their computer and ignore them all day and night to chat at DG, LOL!) I think between the storm down south and everybody spending time in their gardens, it's a natural quiet time here. But as the summer heat drives us back inside, I'd bet there'll be an uptick in the activity here, especially posts about pests and diseases ;0)

Well, gotta go see how much my corn grew last night!!!!

hi tiG, I am still here! Just have been busy outside with the big clean-up! I don't have much gardening to talk about since the big flood took all of mine away. I suppose I could on about the monarch caterpillars i've rescued, but that would be boring to most..lol! But I am still here, never the less!!

Palmyra, VA(Zone 7a)

I'm still here.

you've been rescuing caterpillars? That does sound fascinating to me, actually! I know you and Bloomer have been going through a lot. And I do know it's a busy time of year, I just worry:)

For whatever it is worth..I am here as well, and still posting. I think perhaps we don't see as many posts because there are alot more forums and threads, in addition to which, people are busy outside in this glorious weather.

I'm here, too. I never did post a lot on the forums, spent most of my time here in chat. I'm also working a full-time temp job (just through next week), so my computer time's been limited. Time for me to quit being a lurker and jump on in!

It's been verrry hot and humid in Ohio - yucky for us, but great for the garden. Things are finally really starting to grow! And I'm having to water - something we've not had to do for weeks, really. Guess the cloudy 60-70* honeymoon is over in Ohio! :o)

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

I'm here too...I've just been fighting the grass in my garden and mowing these 4 1/2 acres we live on.I'm starting to get my tomato harvest, the pole beans are running,I've got a project going to stabilize a cross pollinated squash and my front porch needs painting!

Lots of fora, but that's what makes DG so nice...there's a place for everyone.I'm suscribed to them all,so I won't miss anything, but there are others that have specialized intersts, and I'm hopeful that everyone comes to the 'general forums'to catch up and see what everyone else is doing.

It's a busy time of year.I posted almost the same message in the heirloom forum that I post in most.we've all got projects going over there and the computer is taking a backseat for now.

Vols is right...the heat will run us all back in shortly!

With my keeping my hubby's same hours, I can't do my gardening in the cool of the day - because he works evenings, we sleep 3-11am! This past week and next, I am working a temp job 7:30-4:30, so I'm up -- but inside! I don't know whether I'm coming or going anymore! LOL

i second karma and melody or should that be third. i've been lurking on and of for the last 5 hours and still haven't approached reading 1/4 of the posts. life is getting hectic as well. i leave in 2 weeks!!! hurray!! or panic!!

we found someone to sublet the bedroom while we're out. that's $800 we don't have to spend, but it means packing up everything for storage. and packing for 2 months worth of travel. i am having such a hard time. we have to pack our camp and hiking clothes, nice clothes for going out in the city, and grubbies for sitting in the car, and it has to fit in one pack each! i have trauma worrying about what if i'm in the middle of the blue smoke mountains or something and the only thing left clean is a party dress.

the bathroom still looks like a hurricane ripped through it.
i'm determined to get it done this week!!! there's a 7's tournament i've been practicng for on saturday too. wish my leg stays in one piece!! :0)

dori that is quite the life.
so how exactly does one acquire one? wanna trade the boredom of the pool for the excitement of tile mortar? i'll even throw in salsa music

tiG, I am a newbie here too. I agree with everyone. With the gardens in full swing now there is so much to do.I moved all my house plants outside too and now I just have to make sure they are happy where I put them. And by the time I get home from work and sit infront of this puter I am tooo pooped to type sometimes. There are alot of threads to read and to try and post in all that I want I would be up all night!
