This pretty little moth loves my mistflower, and I have no clue to the identity of it. Have any of you seen one?
CLOSED: Pink Moth
What a beauty! But no help in ID here. Never saw it in MA!
I googled "pink moth" and found this name: Schinia florida
Here is the Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center page with pic and map of occurrences in Texas. If you are not in one of the counties reported to have the species, perhaps you should contact them so they can update the map!

I realized yours looks much pinker, with a narrower tan border, so this is just a suggestion. boojum, FWIW, this species apparently occurs all the way up to Quebec... can't say I ever saw it either!

Hi Crystal...
I don't think that is it.
When I google for Schinia florida the pictures I find all have a pronounced yellow humped back.
It is picture 12 on this page:

Yeah, I did noticed that Pam's has almost a pointy head... but I didn't research too thoroughly, just thought I would start the discussion!

Pam:
You could also post this over on Hummers and Butterflies forum... moths esp. pretty bright ones, make the scene there pretty regularly.

Good idea ~ I'll post the photo over in the butterfly and hummers forum and see if it can be identified :)
kennedyh, where are you?
I keep trying, but no success so far!
Pam! kennedyh is on the case!
Yeah! I was hoping so :) Let's hope the mystery is solved soon. The elusive pink moth - maybe it is rare and got lost on it's way to an exotic place....Perhaps the hurricane swept it in!
